Johnnie, we are gonna miss ya...,
By yygsgsdrassil "yygsgsdrassil" (Crossroads America) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Good Love (Audio CD)
...we love the heck out of JT here in the Crossroads and are saddened by his passing. This CD here "Good Love" represents both his long awaited return to the radio playlists across the nation and a celebration of that silky soul blues lifestyle we imagined he had. Dressed in a tuxedo, transported only by limo, with a huge diamond studded gold ring on each finger, that brother could croon a good blues song or an R&B lounge favorite and have the sisters out of their seats; he, himself, of course, bearly broke a sweat...the brother was cool, and always cool. But he could also get down home with any bluesmeister in the house. Listening to the cuts here, "Last Two Dollars", "Too Many Memories", "Sending You A Kiss" and, of course, the groovin' "Good Love", I am convinced that most folks don't realise what a great talent the world has lost...we here in the Crossroads know.

Johnnie Taylor was a great artist. His CD Good Love is so great I play it whenever I get the chance. Johnnie Taylor will truly be missed, but his legacy will live on. If you ever need something to pick you up Johnnie Taylor and his soulful voice will do the trick.

You can't miss me when it comes to Johnny Taylor. I love everything he has ever done, every song he has ever sung. Every song I listen to him sing is better than the last. I always said I wanted to be married to him, and just have him sing me to sleep every night. I am surely going to miss him too. I already do. I love this cd just as I love all his cd's. He was truly the greatest. Any cd that has the name Johnny Taylor on it, I will definitely buy. This was one of the best. All the songs were great.

I ordered this for a friend of mine who has throat cancer and he knew every single word to every single song. When he got it, he'd call me up at 9:00 pm just to play me a song over the phone. It arrived in brand new condition and surprisingly, it arrived quickly. I would recommemd this selller.I give them five stars.

Good Love is JT s comeback,
By A Customer
This review is from: Good Love (Audio CD)
Johnnie Taylor is a long-time chartbreaker. From the early 60 s with "Who s Making Love" (actually Stax biggest hit ever!!) to the first platinum certificated "Disco Lady" (which is by no means disco-music) and other 70 s hits he always had hits. Especially in his circuit, the chitlin-curcuit where he is a big star ever since. After meeting Malaco the good stuff and succesful recordings came back to him and "Good Love" is without doubt the best he had done in years. JT goes from ballads from Rich Cason, tunesmith at Malaco who prefers rather electronic sounds, to blues-alike songs like the hit "Last Two Dollars". This one became a standard in Bluesclubs around the country and a hit for JT. Dancesongs like "Slide On" leave the people doing the same steps all over the country and ballads in the wonderful Malaco-Sound round the picture up. This one shows once again the versatility of Johnnie Taylor and the great, warm sound of the Malaco Studios. Buy it!
