Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

"Good and Mad saved me from going insane with rage, led me to laughter with its perfectly pitched cartoons and even provided a solution for replacing helplessness with action. What a better place our world would be if we learned how to handle our rage, an all-too-frequent by-product of congested traffic, layoffs and custody battles. This book should be mandatory reading."
Amy Tan, international bestselling author The Joy Luck Club and The Bonesetter's Daughter

I teach an intervention strategies class for educators. A major part of the course is directed at helping students deal with anger. This book is an excellent resource for adults, as self help, for those who are counseling others, for parents or teens. If there is anyone who is dealing with stresses of anger, this book is a great resource.
It has wonderful hands on creative strategies which can be used by anyone! Best of all are the humor and the practical approaches, for all kinds of learners. It provides strategies for writers and kinesthic learners as well as everyone else. Teachers, counselors and individuals will find a wealth of ideas and strategies to use in this well written and entertaining resource. It's great and I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid advice, immediately useful, February 7, 2004

This review is from: Good and Mad: Transform Anger Using Mind, Body, Soul and Humor (Paperback)
This book really helped me identify the causes of anger, and understand how to effectively and constructively deal with it. It is extremely easy to use, and the wide variety of exercises and techniques it presents means that whatever mood I am in or type of situation I am facing I always find something that "feels right". One of the most helpful things I learnt right away is that I often allowed past, sometimes even unrelated anger, to rise up and intensify the anger any current situation provoked. It is now much easier to seperate these issues and deal constructively with people and situations on their own merits! I feel that Good and Mad is an important breakthrough in accepting anger as a natural, appropriate and inevitable outcome of life and relationships. Anger can become an important and ultimately constructive and positive force in your life and in the world - injustice is fought and overcome through the correct use of anger, for instance- and this book guides the reader step by step to understand, diffuse, or use your anger to healthy purpose.
