Book Description

April 17, 1993
Good Money is testament to the enormous success of Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) in unseating the long-held Wall Street wisdom that ideals and investment decisions don't mix, documenting time after time that it is possible to win financial reward and promote conscientious business practices simultaneously.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

A sociologist and investor, Lowry has analyzed the investment market and documents that socially responsible investing--putting money in companies that adhere to standards that are ethical and effect positive change in the corporate environment as well as society at large--really works. He asserts that companies operating in this manner offer returns to investors that are better than those of companies that do not. In lay terms, Lowry provides a complete explanation of this investment strategy and offers many examples and charts supporting how the "good Dow" is indeed financially good. A bibliography, an up-to-date list of banks and services supporting investments in socially responsible companies, and a glossary for the novice is included to help the investor understand that conventional investment strategies with respect to buying stocks in these types of companies can offer lucrative returns.
