Book Description

2 and up
Many of North America’s most beloved regions are artfully celebrated in these boardbooks designed to soothe children before bedtime while instilling an early appreciation for the continent’s natural and cultural wonders. Each book stars a multicultural group of people visiting the featured area’s attractions—such as the Rocky Mountains in Denver, the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Lake Ontario in Toronto, and volcanoes in Hawaii. Rhythmic language guides children through the passage of both a single day and the four seasons while saluting the iconic aspects of each place.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Like The Others, October 2, 2009

I have Good Night Maine and Good Night Lake, which I love reading to my 9 mo. old, but Good Night Boston isn't like those two. The illustrations are awful - very disappointing - like cheap Japanese animation. And it seems written by someone who doesn't actually know Boston - random things are capitalized, things that should be aren't, all tourist-y stuff, etc. Not sure why the people who make this series dropped the ball on this one - the others are very sentimental and cheerful and really make me think of Maine and the lake when I read them. Don't waste your money on this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 year old loves this book!, April 21, 2008
By
We have been reading my daughter this book to her for over a year now and it is one of her favorites, she still never gets enough of it and what we love is this book is nice and short (those nights when they are really tired and you need to quickly get through 1 book) but with so much going on the pages we can even stretch it out - where are the flowers, where are the birds, who's in the boat, how many runners, etc..

We live just outside of Boston so she finds it neet to read a book that shows places she has been to!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockabye Cradle of US History, September 16, 2007
This delightful little book introduces very young readers to famous landmarks and sites in Boston. It's a good teaching tool and anybody from or familiar with or just plain fond of the Boston area will love it too. Boston is the Cradle of U.S. History; it is a cultural, academic and historical mecca and this book does a nice job of introducing that to young readers!

An ideal companion book Good Night San Francisco (Good Night Our World series) because it is about the Gem of the West Coast and this one is about the Gem of the East Coast.
