About the Author

Beth Ann Mammola-Koravos was born June 6, 1968. She spent her childhood in Milford, New Hampshire. She is the youngest of five girls and was raised by her mother. Her father died when she was very young. Beth was raised in Catholic Faith, and grew up right around the corner from Saint Patrick's Church. An Executive Secretary prior to her marriage, Beth now resides in Massachusetts with her husband Charlie and their three daughters Allison, Alexandria and Olivia. Her first book was born when she caught her youngest daughter Olivia under the window shade one night. When asked what she was doing, she replied, "Saying goodnight to God." When laughing with the Priest at her daughter's Catholic School, Father Bob said "There is a book in the making." And so "Good Night God, Love Olivia" was born. Thank you Father Bob Guillemette.

Format: Paperback
Some stories originate from family lore, passed down through generations. Others are passed up, from our children. Good Night God, Love Olivia (Lifevest Publishing, May 2006, paperback, 25 pages) is such a story. Author Beth Ann Mammola-Koravos walked in to her daughter's room one night to find young Olivia in conversation with God. What followed was the inspiration for Mammola-Koravos' first children's book Good Night God, Love Olivia. The book is a sweet conversation between a mother, a daughter and the God who loves each of us so greatly. In Olivia's gentle "goodnight" to God, we are all reminded to take time each day to thank and praise God for the many blessings in our lives. As Olivia's mother reminds her that God is always ready to converse with her, we too are encouraged to take quiet moments of prayer and reflection along life's journey. Bold, vibrant illustrations by gifted colorist Helena Bebirian bring Olivia's words to life, as we relive a day spent in the splendor of God's creation. Many families pause together each evening for quiet time, reading and prayers. Good Night God, Love Olivia would be the perfect accompaniment for the bedtime ritual of young children.

I found this book to be well written, bright and beautifully illustrated. It puts God on a child's level and let's them see how He impacts our lives on a day to day basis without being preachy. The colorful illustrations and sweet story made this book a great bedtime story for my gang.

It's also a terrific baptism or First Communion Gift for that special child in your life.
