Book Description

June 1, 2001 3 - 7 yearsLittle Golden Book
First a story, and then a kiss from Mother Bear, and Father Bear carries Little Bear to bed. And that's when the fun begins. Father Bear gets to Little Bear's room, but Little Bear is missing! Little readers will see him hiding in the MOST obvious place but Father Bear cannot seem to find him. Is he under the stove? Is he in the garden? Is he in the woodbox? Only when Father Bear walks past the mirror does the silliness end, and in a very tasty way. With this, one of the most charming bedtime tales ever, Richard Scarry has once again proven his timeless appeal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Search Finally Ends February 9, 2003
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I must have read this Little Golden Book book to my daughter over 1000 times. She absolutely loved it as a child. Even though she had memorized the words she insisted on having it read to her every night and she caught me every time I tried to turn two pages at once.

For several years, she had unsuccessfully searched for this book so she could read it to her two sons aged 1 and 3. I was thrilled to see that it was recently re-published and available on Amazon[.com].

The story line involves a baby bear who hides on his father's shoulders when it is time for him to go to bed. The father bear "searches" all over the house for "little bear" who is nowhere to be found. At long last, the father bear looks in a mirror and discovers "little bear" who is perched on his shoulders. A simple story, but one which absolutely fascinated my daughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Favorite Book May 26, 2008
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have purchased 3 of these books over the years. It was mine as a child and then became a favorite of my own sons when visiting Grandma. Sweet story with lovely illustrations from a era gone by. A favorite bed time book, and I'm so happy to see it back in print again.

This is such a sweet book! Illustrated by the marvelous Richard Scary this book is timeless! As soon as we read it (at bedtime) my two little boys (ages 2 and 4) wanted to take turning getting on daddy's shoulders and having daddy look for them... hmm where did my little bear go?? ;) It was soooo sweet and will be a memory I will hold dear in my heart forever! This is a must have golden book! Classic, timeless, sweet! BUY IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bed Time Book May 14, 2010
Format:Hardcover
My three year old son loves when I read him this book. It is a nightly favorite. He has a stack of roughly 30 Little Golden books on his night stand. Each night he picks a few to read and this one gets picked a lot.

Just wanted to let other shoppers know that this story can also be found within the book entitled, "Richard Scarry's Best Storybook Ever." When my sisters and I were little, "Good Night, Little Bear," was one of our favorite stories in the Best Storybook Ever. If you don't already own a copy of the Best Storybook Ever, I highly recommend obtaining one. It's a collection of many short stories like "Good Night, Little Bear," as well as some silly one-page stories that capture the attention of little ones.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheaply made junk of a book April 8, 2013
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Because of Amazon's great service history with me, and because it only cost 3 bucks and change, I won't go through the return process. But the one I received is a cheaply made book, with the pages cut the wrong size for the cover, and binding is insecure. I call it junk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book February 23, 2011
By Wm19
Format:Hardcover
This is a great board book. My baby loves to hold it, look at the pictures, and gnaw on it too. Little Bear is being put to bed by Father Bear, but where has he gone? Very, very cute book. Perhaps the favourite part is Father Bear's bunny slippers...

1.0 out of 5 stars cheap book
This book is so cheap. The hardcover corners are very sharp. I wouldn't let my baby touch this book. I am afraid that it may cut his face.
