Book Description

4 and upP and upGood Night Our World series
Many of North America’s most beloved regions are artfully celebrated in these boardbooks designed to soothe children before bedtime while instilling an early appreciation for the continent’s natural and cultural wonders. Each book stars a multicultural group of people visiting the featured area’s attractions—such as the Rocky Mountains in Denver, the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Lake Ontario in Toronto, and volcanoes in Hawaii. Rhythmic language guides children through the passage of both a single day and the four seasons while saluting the iconic aspects of each place.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"A fantastic children's book series. . . . What a great way to reminisce about places your kids call home, or your favorite summer vacation spots. Learn too about other places your family might like to one day visit."  —Modern Mom

"Appealing as a way to connect children to images of places they know and love. Of note are the charming illustrations, which are colorful, simple and evocative, with a particular emphasis on depicting families of all ethnic backgrounds."  —The Associated Press

5.0 out of 5 stars Goodnight Texas, September 12, 2009

Being a native, homegrown Texan, this book caught my eye right away. It is part of a wonderful series for children. We have a 6 year old granddaughter and a 9 month old grandson who are already enjoying this particular book of the series. The colors are bright and the script easy to understand. As little Texans, I want them to know about their Great State even as young as they are. The book takes the child on a trip across Texas from sunrise to sunset and therein comes the GOODNIGHT part of the book. I would recommend this book, as well as the others in the series, for any young child. It is small for small hands and has hard pages so there is no chance of the pages being torn. Just a great book all around.

My daughter was born in Texas, but we live in TN. This is a great way to familiarize her with her native state. She loves the illustrations and it leads to great discussions about her heritage.
