Being a native, homegrown Texan, this book caught my eye right away. It is part of a wonderful series for children. We have a 6 year old granddaughter and a 9 month old grandson who are already enjoying this particular book of the series. The colors are bright and the script easy to understand. As little Texans, I want them to know about their Great State even as young as they are. The book takes the child on a trip across Texas from sunrise to sunset and therein comes the GOODNIGHT part of the book. I would recommend this book, as well as the others in the series, for any young child. It is small for small hands and has hard pages so there is no chance of the pages being torn. Just a great book all around.

My daughter was born in Texas, but we live in TN. This is a great way to familiarize her with her native state. She loves the illustrations and it leads to great discussions about her heritage.

My mom bought it for my 11 month old. We are from Texas and moved to Ohio about 5 months ago. Within the first few pages I was crying because of how much it reminded me of home. I will truly enjoy reading this to my son as often as he would like.

I got the book for a friend who is having a child and moving away from Texas. It is a fun little book that highlights all the "hot" sports in Texas. It does a great job of capturing the essence of the greatness of Texas. The reason I only gave it an "it's okay" is that the illustrations are not that great.

I bought this as a gift for my nieces and nephews that were moving to Texas. It is cute and fun to read. It gives a very general overview of the places in Texas and I think is a great gift.

Wonderful book, but very disappointed when I read the Galveston Island page. The sentence reads, "Isn't fun to play on the beach?"

The illustrations are fairly unattractive — but you judge for yourself — and the text is not "boardbook" age text. It's more like promotional text for would-be tourists—grown-up ones. The Colorado version of this series is slightly more attractive in its illustrations, but I am returning it because of the poorly conceived text and choices of commercialized destinations.

Someone should do a state series based on culture, nature, and landscapes . . . .
