I like it! Pictures are beautiful. This book reminds me the good old days when I was young.

Such good memories that made me laugh and cry in the old days. Time goes by real quick but good impressions still are there.

Imagine schools without knives, guns, meth, bullies... okay, schools always had bullies, but even bullying was friendlier back then (that is, no Facebook or Twitter or Texting to humiliate a person all over the country).

I'm sure things weren't quite as lovely as some people remember them, but from what I hear from "oldsters", they were still good times and kids actually learned how to read and write and do math, and they learned history and not "social studies". Very interesting book, and they give my kids a feel for what school life was like then. My kids probably know better than most... they are homeschooled in a "one-room schoolhouse" style. What fun.

I was looking forward to reading this to a legally blind retired schoolteacher, but unfortunately did not receive the item.
