Bowel Brouhaha Bedevils Boardroom

We’ve all experienced it: excessive stress, something we ate – any number of causes, actually – can get our bowels a bit testy. The result can be uncomfortable, and sometimes more than a little embarrassing (like when it happens at work just as you’re preparing to make that big presentation in front of the board of directors). It’s the “D” word: diarrhea, and its onset doesn’t have to spell doom to your work day. Good Sense Anti-Diarrheal contains 2 mg of loperamide hydrochloride in each tablet to still the churning. This store brand can assist in quieting your agitated bowels. Of course, be sure to drink plenty of clear fluids to guard against dehydration during a bout of diarrhea. Stay calm and focus on your board meeting. Don’t get your bowels in an uproar; take Good Sense.

Directions

Drink plenty of clear fluids to help prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea. Adults and children 12 years of age and older: 2 caplets after the first loose stool; 1 caplet after each subsequent loose stool; but no more than 4 caplets in 24 hours. Children 9-11 years of age (60-95 pounds): 1 caplet after the first loose stool; ½ caplet after each subsequent loose stool; but no more than 3 caplets in 24 hours. Children 6-8 years of age (48-59 pounds): 1 caplet after the first loose stool; ½ caplet after each subsequent loose stool; but no more than 2 caplets in 24 hours. Children younger than 6 years (up to 47 pounds): Ask a doctor.

I am a SUPER loyal user of the Pepto Bismal pink products for Diarrhea. I often have these issues when I travel-when my schedule goes all willy-nilly, so does my digestion! I decided to substitute these with my pepto (I used the pink liquid usually). I started to feel a little yucky and took the recommended dosage of pills. I was hoping that would work, but I still was feeling not great. After about 45 minutes it started to work, but by then I didn't really need it anymore (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I guess I could take these before I think I may get sick, but I don't really like to medicate unless I have to. I am going to be sticking with the Pepto liquid-it just works better and stops the issues faster.

This is the equivalent of Imodium AD you can buy at your local supermarket or drugstore. I find it's good to keep this kind of product on hand because you never know when your bowels might decide to get a bit cranky. In my experience they don't work right away, but after a couple hours things should settle down. With the holidays coming up it's especially good to have these around should any of that turkey or ham or whatnot do a number on your innards.

That is all.

Loperamide Hydrochloride works great. It has been a real life saver after I developed some digestive issues. So I have purchased a lot of store brands and the name brand Immodium. They have all worked well and I highly recommend using a store brand like Good Sense.

But this was not my favorite. The packaging really irritated me. These are little caplets in a blister pack. The blister packs were hard for me to open and by the time I got them open the caplets has broken. And swallowing these pills when they are broken is yucky. I would love to see this in an easy open bottle.

Not a whole lot you can say about this except that it works. I like the fact that it's a lower price than what you'd pay for some of the more well known brands but that the ingredients are the same and it works just as well. I always like to keep some of this on hand just in case!

I've had this drug, the active ingredient Loperamide, in generic versions when traveling abroad. Unless you have a bad reaction to it, it's a good go-to solution for diarrhea. It's not going to solve dysentery but it will get one through a bout of the runs.

Good Sense Anti-Diarrheal Loperamide Hydrochloride Tablets, 2 mg, works just as well as Imodium A-D but doesn't cost as much. This is the type of product you want to buy and had on hand BEFORE you need it. I don't eat beef or pork but when a friend brought over chili with beef in it, forgetting or not caring I don't eat beer. I wrongly assumed she used ground turkey because we had discussed my dietary restrictions a few days before. Well, if you haven't eaten beef in a long time, it tends to cause a distressing digestive tract uproar leading to the dreaded runs. I took this product as directed and it worked just as the name brand product does. I'm so happy I had these tablets on hand. When you need it, you aren't in any condition to run out to buy it.
