A very-well made period piece that puts the parable of the sower into a new cultural context. The production notes explain the meanings behind the names and imagery. The film is in both English and Japanese; subtitles for the alternate language are shown (e.g. if the characters are speaking Japanese, English subtitles are shown, but if they are speaking English, Japanese subtitles are displayed). You may also be interested in The Way of the Christian Samurai: Reflections for Servant-Warriors of Christ which explores lessons modern Christians can learn from the samurai.

Let me get the negative out of the way:
It's not a movie. It's only 20 minutes long. It builds up to a climax and suddenly everything's fixed and it's all over. You are introduced to some characters that seem are going to give more to the story but don't get the chance. Positive: Very touching for any Christian out there. The DVD is in English and Japanese with English subtitles. Both are featured at once. There is no other setting for it. Interesting to see the parable of the seeds falling into different soils.
