Worth owning for just one story,

"The New Prime" by Jack Vance. I won't give anything away because the twist at the end takes you to an entirely different plane. You'll find yourself scratching your head halfway through--why these fairly pointless and disconnected tales about totally different people in totally different settings? You'll see...!
This story has haunted me ever since I read it about five years ago, in a book borrowed from the library and could not remember the title, couldn't find it in any Fantasy anthology when I went back to look for it. As I recall, the other stories are v. good too. |
