I think it's safe to say that anyone who got The Last Kiss soundtrack became enamored with the song "Paperweight" that Fisk did with Josh Radin. That song created such a rich feeling of the joy of being with someone. I was left wondering where I could get more from this young woman I only knew as the girlfriend character in the movie Orange County.
It has been a long wait, and after reading about the issues with a major label, she's out doing it solo. The album is classified as folk, but I think of it more like pop for grown ups. She writes lyrics that I suspect anyone can identify with, but they resonate loudly with me, and I'm nine years older than her. The style is diverse enough to take you up and down, and keep you engaged. "Fall Apart Today" will undoubtedly strike a chord with "Paperweight" fans (this song is even better). The ironically titled "Miss You" is like a kick in the goodies that sounds like something Sheryl Crow, Sara Bareilles and KT Tunstall got together and wrote for a common exboyfriend. "Sunshine" feels almost a little country and has this wonderful guitar bridge in the middle. Her story is hard to ignore, and after seeing her play tonight in Cleveland, she deserves whatever success she gets. She loves to engage the fans, and sells her CD's herself. You can't help but wish the best for her.

Like Music - Buy This!,

I bought this based on the Amazon teasers with no previous experience of who she was or what her background is. Zero expectations - just the music! What a super surprise and great addition to any music collection. Though I don't like to compare artists, she is a mix of the smooth vocals of Margo Timmins (Cowboy Junkies) and the brash crash of KT Tunstall, with just a pinch of Loretta Lynn thrown in. That being said, she comes across all original and the lyrics and music are complex, mature and highly developed. No teen angst here. Even on the first listen I had to hear all the cuts in their entirety - a rare occurrence for me. I could care less she is an actress and her mom is a movie star (something she also reportedly tries to avoid) BUT she can sing and play. Instant fan.

Worth the Wait,
This review is from: The Good Stuff (Audio CD)
We've waited for years to finally have this album. Now that it's arrived, The Good Stuff was definitely worth the wait. It is Schuyler Fisk through and through. Containing a wonderful mix of rises and falls in various styles, this album is incredibly eclectic. These are not cookie cutter songs, no two tracks sound alike.
The album provides surpise and refreshment, even to her loyal fans. Though not to be disappointed, The Good Stuff gives loyalists their classic Schuyler favs through a revamped "From Where I'm Standing", an improved "Hello", and a "Who Am I To You" that stands on its own. The Good Stuff also introduces new options for favorite songs. "Cold Heart" is a perfect example of Fisk's ability to keep things musically low key, which beautifully accentuates completely relatable lyrics. A purchase you won't regret; an album you'll rarely (if ever) press the "next track" button; thoroughly satisfying, The Good Stuff stays true to its name.

This girl has the tone of Sheryl Crowe. I never tire of listening to her. She is so real in her lyrics and is so pleasing on the ear. She is very down to earth and I hope more people get to enjoy the simplicity and beauty of her music

Schuyler Fisk - The Good Stuff - AMAZING,
This review is from: The Good Stuff (Audio CD)
Fell in love with her voice and lyrics with Paperweight, from the Last Kiss. But listening to this CD (sometimes on repeat for the whole day).. she has an amazing gift; her voice is clear and lyrical. It draws you in and allows you to float along with the songs. "Hello, It's Me" could be the song for any lover taking a chance on reaching out after some time has passed. My daughter borrowed my car (with this CD in the player one day), and I lost the CD to her for a week (despite getting my car back that same night). I hope she puts out more music. I'm a fan forever.

I bought this on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the artist, the material and the recording. There's something about her voice that won't let me turn her off. It's addictive. I wish she'd record more material.

As always, Schuyler Fisk brings together the best of emotion, song, lyric and beauty to create an album for the ages. Her voice and her music touches my heart and all of the songs on "The Good Stuff" are well worth having.

Schuyler has such a beautiful voice and presence. We were lucky enough to have her play in town (touring with Ben Taylor), and she stole the show. Love the album and hope to hear more.
