"Good Tar" is a double-live CD and LaMotte's seventh album. Recorded during the summer of 2001 at various LaMotte concerts with audiences ranging from 80 to 800. The twenty songs include nine which are previously unrecorded, some older material and several on-stage stories. This disc captures LaMotte at his purest; solo with guitar and audience.

David LaMotte -again- shows himself as an astonishingly gifted, and extremely funny (in songs like We Are Charlie's Angels) singer/songwriter! His anecdotes between songs make the double-live album simply AMAZING!This might be -along with Corners- the best David Lamotte album there is right now!

I suppose if you've never made it to a concert this is pretty amazing. The conversations definitely add spice to the album, and it's very warm and happy, but you can't match a concert.
One the other hand, if you want to get started listening to David, this is one of the very best albums to begin with.
