Candles look good in window or on mantle,

I bought these after Christmas on sale to use in my windows next year. They are easy to use, the suction cups work pretty well to keep them secure. Insert the 2 AA batteries, screw on the base tightly and the candle is on and ready to go. The gold bases are made of plastic but they look pretty good. The candle bulb is also a rubbery plastic, but it has a pretty yellow/orange glow. The candles do come on the same time every day. They could come in handy to use in a hard-to-reach location, since they don't need to be turned on every day. The batteries last for a long time in them. I have had mine going for around 6 weeks straight and the batteries are still going.

LED window candles,

I purchased these candles in November at a much higher price from another online vendor. I bought 5 sets to see if they really work as described, they did! When I saw them on Amazon for 1/2 the price I jumped on them for the rest of my 47 windows. They come on at the same time and go off 6 hours later. The suction cups hold them in place nicely and they never lost battery power. Of all the sets I bought only 2 candles weren't working properly. I returned them and got a replacement. My only wish is that the light were white, but I searched and searched and I don't think they exist in LED,battery operated, with a timer.

The light output for the candle lamps is dim - as was stated in other reviews. But, the convenience of the automatic on and off and being cordless is worth it. One problem is that it is a hit or miss to turn the candles on and off manually, and once that is done it is difficult to get them timed to come on at the same time.
I would buy again

These are the best battery operated candles. A realisic candle glow and they do operate as stated. I own a pair of the 9" and the 12". I'm thinking of buying more.

I love these candles. They stay on for 6 hours after you put in the batteries. It makes life so much easier than going to each window to turn them on and later going back to turn them off. The only problem I had was getting the suction cup to stick at first. It took several tries on a few of the candles when I first put them up. That was on Dec. 1st and they haven't fallen a single time since. The window may have been too cold. I would recommend these to anyone. They look good from the outside too.

I was concerned that the "realistic flickering" would be obnoxious, but it's not - it's actually almost exactly like a real candle sitting in a still room (not sputtering in wind or anything). In fact, the whole thing really does simulate a candle quite well, minus the danger of open flame. So if you're looking for something super bright and cheery, this isn't it. If you're looking for ghost-white, this isn't it. But these aren't the super orange ones (like the old school ones my grandparents had) either. They're nice, subdued, dim little candles, friendly and understated. I'd call the color a mild sunny yellow gold light (the packaging picture is actually accurate there, depending on your monitor settings).I'm tempted to only give it 4 stars, but I don't think my reason is fair - because they're dim like real candles, if the lights are on in my house or my neighbor's million watt driveway light is lit, these are hard to see. They highlight the need for me to actually put up some real shades/curtains in my windows, something I've just avoided doing. In the windows with decent curtains, they look fantastic. So I'd be knocking off a star because they highlight my laziness - not the point. They really are nice. They do NOT have a light sensor, either. I think I'd looked at too many different products before buying, the packaging and listing here is very accurate. It's not proving to be an issue for us, I was just a little surprised. They really do look just like tapered candles in the window - from outside the house I can't tell the difference. Inside, they look pretty nice as well, though the base is clearly gold plastic (it doesn't bother me, not for this price). The suction cup holder doesn't work for us, we have screens inside our windows that are in the way. They're not top heavy or anything, and the cat doesn't seem so very interested in them so it hasn't been a problem, but the suction cup does affix to the window, not the sill like I'd thought, just fyi. It kind of grips the taper part of the candle, so it wouldn't be hidden or subtle or anything. The way the timer works, you just put the batteries in and screw it all together and it turns on for 6 hours, then turns off automatically. If you want to turn them off, just slightly unscrew the base to break the connection to the battery. If you assembled them for the first time at 10PM like me, the next day at the time you normally want them to come on you've got to unscrew and screw them back together. After that they just come on the same time every day for 6 hours. There are no spare parts, nothing you can really take apart and replace, repair, or substitute, not without some serious damage and/or melted plastic craftiness. So no swapping things around. About the only thing I think one could try to DIY with these would be swapping out the plastic gold "candle holder" base for an actual candle holder. The "candle" part itself has little rubber pad things that hold it upright in the detachable gold base, and the base doesn't affect the batteries or function of the candle. So theoretically if the plastic look bothered you, you could probably find a real candle holder (for a tapered wax candle) that would hold it just fine, or maybe with some of those foam spacers for thinner candles. I haven't tried it, but I've seen other people ask/make those comments.
