I purchased a new xmas tree this year that had permanent lights attached to the tree. These were GE Constant On lights. I put the tree up and plugged the lights in. They worked perfectly. Unplugged the lights and went to bed. The next morning when I turned the lights on, two areas did not light. I replaced fuses; it still did not work. I returned the tree because I thought the lights may have been damaged when they were installed.
Then I bought 4 strands of GE Constant On lights because I still liked (and believed) their advertising that the bulbs could be unplugged or burned out and all the other lights would work. They worked beautifully and we decorated the tree. Unplugged the lights and went to bed. Up the next morning and plugged in the lights. 1/2 of a middle strand did not come on. I replaced fuses and the first light that did not light. Still no good.
Called the company listed on the box and they said I would have to send that strand back to them at my expense and they would send me another strand free. I told them the tree was already decorated and that would be difficult to do, not to speak of the fact Xmas was 3 1/2 weeks away and I may not get it back in time.
The GE Constant On bulbs have fuses and fused bulbs everywhere, have not worked in my 2 instances, and I am sure will continue to go out.
I would never recommend these bulbs to anyone and if you buy them, stand by for a very Unmerry Xmas.
