5.0 out of 5 stars Great, subtle lights
We originally bought similar lights by GE, but they seemed too bright, and I didn't like how they flickered. Also, the GE lights took 3 AA batteries each.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality for the price
Compare these to the Plow and Hearth lights and you can save a few dollars per light. I did not realize they flickered. and at first was disappointed about that, however, the flicker is quite realistic and pleasant. The light is not overly bright, and the battery lasts about a month as stated. I just replaced the batteries and they shine much brighter. The sensor is...

My parents bought these Good Tidings lights, so I decided to try them out also. I think they are great, and they take just 2 AA batteries each. The flicker of these candles seems more realistic than the GE brand. An earlier reviewer complained that they weren't bright enough to see from the road 100 feet away. He/She probably should try the GE brand. However, if you want something more quaint and subtle, try these Good Tidings lights. For a small house in a village, they seem perfect.

The sensor is pretty sensitive and in a darker room the lights seem to be on all day. Overall a good buy.

I bought 10 of these lights. Much too orange in color. Not good for Christmas at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleasant ambient effect, bright enough to be seen from a distance., December 27, 2010

I was pretty leery of these lights with the flicker effect, as I have had some bright LED candles in the past with really harsh light and strobe-like flickering which I wouldn't use because of the carnival effect and short life span. I needed to replace older corded dusk/dawn candles which gave me fits placing them and keeping them in place. I was afraid these wouldn't be a good substitute and would have too short a life span. However, these soft yet visible lights are very charming. The flicker is realistic and calming, and the color is very warm, not orange, just very similar to a real candle. I still have a couple of the corded type downstairs (for now - am ordering more of these to replace them) and they aren't so different as to be terribly obvious, however, these are much nicer. The bases are very nice and realistic looking, not obvious plastic. So easy to place in the windows, and they stay put, too. If you have a deep enough ledge, (about 1 1/2") you won't need any holders. I even balanced one on the top of the window latch and that stays put, too. Takes about 10 seconds per pair to place, as opposed to the 15-minute per room hassle I had with the corded ones. They have been in the windows for about 23 days in 15 hour long nights and are still going strong!

I'm considering leaving the one in the bedroom up full-time, as it creates such a comforting and pleasant glow in the cold dark nights.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warm up for Christmas, June 26, 2011

These candles were perfect for my windows. Bought 16 of them and the beauty of having a light sensitive switch meant I didn't have to turn them all on and off every day. They looked great in the window from the outside and and even looked good from the inside. They were just what I was looking for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Tidings- yes, December 6, 2009

I ordered 3 lights (for a test drive) for the the holiday season. They are easy to operate, load batteries and turn on switch. They operate dusk to dawn, I've had no problem with them. The light is dimmer, the flame appears to flicker having a very realistic look to them. I am reminded of burning a real candle. The apperance is that of a low fame in a white pillar candle, the glow is soft. They would also be very pretty in a floral arrangement. I wish they were just a tad brighter, not much though. Other reviews I've read kept me away from other lights, because of the brightness of the light. Not wanting something to bright I ordered these. I think it's just a preference. I will probably order more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Window candles, December 12, 2011

Excellent product!!!!! Fits perfectly on window sill, and on the top of the bottom window which is where ours are placed so they can be seen above landscape shrubs. Neighbors love them, have complimented us on having them. One neighbor has ordered two for her windows after seeing ours. Everyone loves the flicker and color of the flicker. Very natural looking. Flicker and color gives the appearance of real candles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good for battery-operated LED, December 8, 2011

I think these are pretty good for a battery-operated LED. I am trying to replace some old hard-wired Christmas window candles which have a lovely "glow" but having to plug them in doesn't work in our new house. Of course battery-operated incandescents still give off the prettiest light, however they only last a night or two on a set of batteries! Of the LED candles I've tried, these are the best so far. The color is a little orange-y, but not the totally unrealistic blue-ish or flourescent white which I've seen in other products. Also the "flickering" is pretty good, not perfect, but close to my nice "flameless" candles and much better than the "flashing" I've seen in other candles. Also they are bright enough to be easily seen from the street. I wish they had a setting for just "on" and not "flicker", but they are a good option for a good price - I'll keep them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lights., December 7, 2011
I purchased several of these lights last year for the front windows of my home. I liked them so much that I have used them year round and am now purchasing 8 more for the rest of my windows. They look very welcoming from the outside and I find they are much nicer than nightlights within the house. The battery cost has been minimal.

After reading some reviews I thought the candles were not going to be very bright. They are so much better than this other brand I have. The "other" candles are now in windows that no one really sees, these candles took the place in the windows that face the street. Very happy with them.
