The "Puff" of a Resin Bag,
This review is from: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Cleveland Indians: Heart-pounding, Jaw-dropping, and Gut-Wrenching Moments from Cleveland Indians History (The Good, ... and the Ugly) (The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly) (Hardcover)
Author Mary Schmitt Boyer is a columnist in the sport section of The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, with the bulk of her writing on pro baseball.
Like the "puff" of a resin bag in the hand of a pitcher, Schmitt Boyer's feature pieces are mostly breezy, hardly controversial and oftentimes forgettable moments after flipping over the page of the newspaper. In that style, Schmitt Boyer takes a big wind up and lobs up a brief glimpse into the rich - and oftentimes tumultuous - history of the Cleveland Indians. It may be best savored by a young reader or an adult fan who has an appreciation of the club, but is looking to take a seventh-inning stretch in summertime reading.
