5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites of 2009
They don't make pop-punk like this anymore. Catchy AND passionate, sincere AND interesting. If you want some straight up, straightforward pop-punk, this will not disappoint. Support these guys' hard work and actually buy this album.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice call
The Broadway Calls is a decent band with a sound similar to some stuff by Green Day, but that's okay by me. I call this "Power Punk" and I like it somewhat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Broadway Calls 2nd full length album does not dissapoint!, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Good Views, Bad News (Audio CD)
I couldn't wait for this album to come out, I had it preordered when I first heard about it. After the amazing self titled album, I didn't think that they could live up to it. What "Good Views, Bad News" has going for it is how much the sound hasn't changed from their previous album and ep's. It sounds like the band picked right up where they left off, or a 2nd part of their self titled masterpiece.

The lyrics are stronger than ever protesting the war in their first few songs, and songs about heartbreak and loss. I'll admit there are a couple of songs that don't stand out as much as the others such as "Give Up the Ghost" and "Sundowners" Don't get me wrong, I like the songs they just don't have the same stand out catchy tunes as the rest of the album.

My personal favorites are Midnight Hour, To The Sheets, Tonight is Alive, and Wake Up Call. It's amazing how easily someone can relate to a Broadway Calls song. Just about 3 guys having the time of their lives and living in the moment. "Remember when we'd laugh all night without a drink, or without a place to go" just really shows their true writing abilities and the fact that they are truly passionate about their music.

"Good Views, Bad News" is an amazing second album by Broadway Calls and I look forward to see what they do next time. If anyone is looking for them to follow up their previous works, this is it, and for anybody who is looking to get hooked on them now, this is it as well.
