A Good Woman is Hard to Find by Darrell A. Cador is a look at how four young men go about finding their soul mates in the 21st century. Surely, it can not be that difficult when there are seven women to every man? It would seem that would only open up the relationship opportunities. Interestingly enough, Tyrus, Dale, Marcus and Jordan are not having the easiest time finding soul mates. They are often left wondering why four, gainfully employed, good looking brothers are still alone. One day, while at the gym, they make a pact that they are all going to find a woman by the end of the year and if not, those who are still single will have to pay up.Mr. Cador takes the reader on a sometimes humorous and at other times melancholy look at how men are as interested in falling in love and settling down as women are. Women will enjoy the `shoe on the other foot' elements of the novel because it shows that men are sometimes as insecure as women in their pursuit of mates. What particularly appealed to me was the range of characters and the fact that there were not pat relationship answers. A Good Woman is Hard to Find will make the reader laugh out loud at times and other times nod in recognition. I recommend this novel to those who enjoy fast-paced, contemporary fiction.
