Goodbye Melody Mountain offers a bracing musical wallop part prog rock, part jazz, that should appeal to fans of very cool music across at least a couple of generations. Yes, there are a few points when the fast forward or next track controls are essential, but those excesses are easily forgiven by the deeper rewards gleaned from cranking the post rock sounds from Samuel Jackson Five. (What a cool name!) Note that this collection is all instrumentals, so be ready for some stretching out and exploration.
