This review is from: Goodbye Old Life (Audio CD)
This is the third cd that I've bought from Echo Screen. The first 5 songs are completely new from the band. The best of which, I literally cannot choose. Each one of the songs completely stands out on its own. The lead singer's vocals stick out so much in each one of the songs and you can tell that he's very passionate about his music.
I was very excited to hear this album after I heard "When I Escape L.A." on their website and just how wonderful it sounded. The rest of the album is packed with raw demos and a couple remakes including Tom Petty's "Mary Janes Last Dance" and a surprisingly better remake of Blink 182's "First Date." I myself love the raw demo's because the drummer goes all out and uses his double bass and it just fits the music much better than it did on Euphoria.
This album was produced by Ace Enders and that alone should make you want to give it a listen. Echo Screen is a very unique once in a lifetime band and they deserve to be listened to all day and you won't regret cause they'll be stuck in your head all day too. This is the Echo Screen that people love and it shows just how versatile they can be with their instruments. I really hope this band gets the respect they deserve because they are simply amazing.
thank you Echo Screen for releasing another album that I can leave in the cd player for the next few months.
