Lee Grue's collection of stories bring the reader into the heart of the lower 9th ward, a place of trainyards and river-barges where to enter the Quarter is to re-surface in reality. A quirky and wonderful book which strips through the tourists' gloss and glaze of New Orleans and reveals the rich mahogany which lies underneath.
