Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Goodbyn, a better lunchbox reinvented for kids, parents, and our planet. BPA and Phthalate-Free and pack like you mean it. It stinks when your sandwich tastes like a banana or when your chicken korma tastes like your sweet rice roll. Goodbyn keeps tastes (and moisture) separate. Lunch tastes like it's supposed to. Stick it. Love it. Raise your hand if you don't like stickers. Who doesn't? Each Goodbyn lunchbox comes with three sheets of hundreds of stickers: alphabets, body parts, allergy labels, you name it, you stick it. When things fit seamlessly into your life it's a breath of fresh air, right? Goodbyn has a carrying handle, can easily be slipped into a backpack, or fit into a cubby hole at school. Feed, rinse, repeat. Grime isn't fun, especially when you put your lunch in it. Our priority was to make Goodbyn dishwasher-safe, so we can keep our kid's lunches clean - inside and out. Go on and on and on. Reincarnation is one of our favorite topics, especially when we're talking about lunchboxes. One material for one reason: it can be recycled and reborn as something else.

Product Description

Pack like you mean it! It stinks when your sandwich tastes like a banana. Or when your chicken korma tastes like your sweet rice roll. The Goodbyn lunch box keeps tastes (and moisture) separate. Lunch tastes like it's supposed to. The Goodbyn is a better lunchbox reinvented for kids, parents, and our planet. BPA and phthalate-free plastic and 100% recyclable, this cute design features five food storage compartments, tight-sealing lid, 8.5 oz. drink bottle and a convenient built-in carrying handle. The lid is designed to be decorated with the included 275+ stickers and comes complete with two little ears at the top. Let your child use their imaginaton to turn their Goodbyn lunch box into an animal, a person, a monster or anything their little minds can dream up! The Goodbyn lunch box is ideal for sandwiches, leftovers, fruits, veggies, snacks and treats. The drink bottle is excellent for liquids like milk, water, juice or even salad dressing or a smoothie. The Goodbyn seals tightly, but we do not suggest placing thin liquids in the larger compartments. This lunch box was designed for kids grades K-4. Generally not recommended for children under 5 as they may need assistance in opening and closing the lunch box.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for independent little kids November 9, 2009
I bought two of these for my twin pre-school boys. First, the good - they are rugged, they do not leak if they are closed properly, there is PLENTY of room inside, and the sticker decorations don't fall off in the dishwasher. The bad - the narrow bottle inside easily tips and spills, and the bottle inside has no confirmation that the snap lock top is actually closed. The worst of all, I'd say, is that the lid to the whole lunch box is so very hard to snap on, that my children can't do it themselves. My pre-school frowns on this, first because the school fosters independence, and second, because the teachers don't have time to deal with it. Even with a lesson from Mom on how to press the inner ribs first, the teachers cannot get the lid on completely. And, the school has a policy of sending home leftovers so that the parents know what the child ate / didn't eat. That means that I can only send dry and semi-dry food for lunch, because if they don't eat it all, it's not a disaster when it falls out of the Goodbyn onto their cubby, shoes, coats, etc. Presentation also suffers a bit when the box is filled flat, but carried upright. My kids lovely little sandwich triangles end up in a messy pile at the bottom of one of the compartments. Lastly, I would confirm that there is no way to keep hot foods hot, because the container has no insulation. I WOULD recommend this to an adult who wants to be "green" and take salads, fruit, bread, and yogurt to work. I would not recommend it for a young child, or even an older one who might be in too big a hurry to do a good job closing it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Love it in theory, hate it in practice September 10, 2010
Color Name:Blue
These lunchboxes sounded like such a good idea, but I HATE them and regret ever having purchased them (especially considering the huge cost!). Here are just a few of the reasons:

1) The depth is too shallow - I can't even fit a whole peach or large apple in one.
2) The lid is horrible - even I have trouble closing it properly and tightly, and forget about my 9 and 7 year olds. Also, we've only been using them for a little over a week, but the lids seem to be warping in the dishwasher and getting more difficult to close every day.
3) They take up an enormous amount of space in the dishwasher - not so environmentally friendly if I need to run an extra load of dishes every night in order to get these washed too. They are a pain to wash by hand due to all the compartments.
4) Not only are they thin plastic with no insulating abilities, but the compartments are so small that I can't fit even a tiny icepack next to that container of yogurt (and I can barely even squeeze in the container of yogurt by itself - only certain brands will fit).

Great idea, horrible execution. It might be OK for an adult who can put their lunch in a refrigerator at work, but NOT for kids. The stickers are cute, though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay.... Just October 4, 2009
First, this lunch box is completely uninsulated. In other words everything will be room temperature at lunchtime. The compartments all must be sealed when you pack it, you must press around each seal. If you don't, air will seep into the compartments and liquid will seep out. It also might open accidentally. You get better at it over time but you really have to make sure the dang things are sealed. I'm not a bodybuilder but it would help me get the $%^& thing closed. Opening is okay but it is not that easy for a little kid. Each compartment is like a tiny tupperware lid that fits okay but not great. So when you finally get one closed, it somehow pops another open. It's frustrating but after awhile, you get the hang of it.
It's really just a big slab of plastic and it works as advertised. Just don't expect too much. Like anything advertised, you'll find things to like and things to dislike. We are returning this item to the manufacturer who has agreed to take it back and give a refund. That's a good thing.
I would wait until this item has been on the market for awhile and has been refined. There will also be some good imitators that will be available for a lower price. Overall, it's overpriced and it under-performs. It should be priced at about $12.00 max.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice
Really nice & light weight, lots of depth too, but needs to be snapped shut in 6-8;places. Too difficult for my 5 yo. I'm definitely purchasing the smaller version.
