Goodfellas - A Fraction of the Music From The Motion Picture,
By "belliott01" (North Haven, CT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Goodfellas: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Ok, if you have seen Goodfellas the movie, you will know that it has about 30 fantastic songs in it, and there is only 12 songs on the Soundtrack cd. I would love to see a re-release of the soundtrack with ALL the songs on it.

One disc where there should have been two,

After watching the movie a few times I had to buy the soundtrack too. And if you like movies like GoodFellas, Casino, A bronx Tale and their soundtracks, this one is definitely worth your money. Though there are missing quite a few songs, like Jerry Vale's 'Pretend you don't see her' and Bobby Vinton's 'Roses are Red, My Love'. The Crystals - And then He Kissed Me, Shangri-Las - The Leader of the Pack. But ok, nothing is perfect. And sometimes we have to do with something that allmost is. Don't expect a 2CD supersoundtrack like the one from Casino, but this one just needs to be in your collection too.

Where's the music?,

This review is from: Goodfellas: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
What a disappointment! This is only a fraction of the great soundtrack. "Pretend you don't see her" by Jerry Vale is completely missing here as well as a slew of other great hits. I hope Scorsese gets it right the second time around if he ever gets down to business in putting together "Goodfellas: The Collector's Edition." Martin...you reading this?

Good CD but it is missing so much! Whats up with that?,
By
This review is from: Goodfellas: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I really like this CD but it really only covers so little. Its missing about every great song from Henry's coke filled day (Rolling Stones, Harry Nillson) which contained a lot of songs on the movie. Martin Scorcese did an awesome job with the music he picked out for the movie and I could not imaging it being any other way but the CD should contain them all. This soundtrack could have easily been made into a double disc. Its still a good CD though. Its not the kind of music CD I normally listen to but since Im a huge fan of the movie it is a good CD to own for people who love all things Goodfellas. If not for Goodfellas I know I would never have bought a CD with all this on it.

should have been a Double Set,
This review is from: Goodfellas: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
the songs worked so well in the film but you only get a fraction of them.the songs work so well within various scenes but when you get the Soundtrack quite a bit is missed. this is a Pretty Good Soundtrack that would have been even better had all the songs been featured as a Double Disc.

I can't believe they left it out!,
By
This review is from: Goodfellas: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Good, but they left out the song that was playing during one of the best shots in film history: the nearly three minute steady-cam shot of Henry and Karen traveling into the club with "And Then He Kissed Me" in the background. That scene is inseperable from the song, and they left the song out!

There are many great songs from key scenes missing. George harrisons what is life for example when he being watched by the helicopter is great piece of music editing and should have been included but besides from that very good.
