The illustrations in this book are charming. The story never fails to make my daughter (and me) sleepy. It's a gem.

I just purchased a used copy of the book for my daughter to read to my 7 month old grandson. I took her several of my old books for her son and the first thing she asked was "where's the Goodnight Book?" I have two copies but can't let them go, one for each of my daughters who wore them out. They are rubbed and the binding is taped, but I still can't let them go. Even though I have a grandson and the book is about a little girl, it is a great book that children memorize quickly and I always let my girls say the "good night" at the end of the book. It became a ritual. Now we can pass it on to another generation.

This book was my middle daughter's favorite. Now its my 2 year olds favorite. A very simple book that is very quick to read. I've read the story so often I know it by heart. Wonderful story of a little girl getting ready to say Goodnight. I love this book as do my two girls.

I adore this book! It was my very favorite when I was little and now my children love this book.
The art is so precious, I wish more children's books took after this one.

This was my absolute favorite bedtime book when I was a small child. I remember the pictures vividly as well. Now it's time to pass along the tradition to my 7 month old daughter! I know she will love it as much as I did. I am sad this book is now out of print...I will try my hardest to keep our copy in good condition so my daughter can read it to her children many years from now.

My husband and I used to read this book to our children when they were small. It became a family favorite to the point where everyone in our family had it memorized! Sadly, my husband sold our copy in a garage sale. Our children were devastated that their childhood book was gone. Fortunately, we found this one on Amazon and ordered it immediately! While it is not the actual childhood copy, it is serving as a nice replacement....the condition was about the same as our original. We are pleased.

MY DAUGTER LOVED THIS STORY AND BY AGE 1 HAD IT MEMORIZED.WE HAVE BOUGHT TIS BOOK SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE SHE WORE THEM OUT.HER FAVORITE PART IS THE END, WHEN MOMMY SAYS GOODNIGHT.THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE FOR EVERYONE WITH CHILDREN

This was my favorite bedtime book as a child. I still have the copy that my parents used to read to me.

When we had an unexpected late addition to our family, we dug this book back out and started reading it to her. It wasn't until then that I realized how special this book was. My 9 year old daughter sighed and said, "I love this book. It always gave me such a warm and cozy feeling." What high praise for a book with only seven sentences!

I am so pleased to have found this book that was a favorite of all my daughters. Since it is out of print, I found it for my granddaughter at Amazon.com. It was in better shape than I anticipated and am so happy to have found a copy to pass on. Very cute goodnight book for children of all ages.
