5.0 out of 5 stars Very cute and very silly, December 29, 2010
This review is from: Goodnight Lulu (Paperback)
"What if a big, striped tiger comes in while I am sleeping?" asked Lulu.

This is a very cute story about a chick named Lulu who has some night fears. She poses each fear to her mother, who sooths away her fears. It's a very cute and very silly story, which little readers are sure to love. My little reader certainly did! Want a good bedtime read? Then get this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect bedtime reading for toddlers-preschoolers!, October 7, 2009
This review is from: Goodnight Lulu (Paperback)
"Goodnight Lulu" is a perfect blend of a fun story with vibrant illustrations that will appeal to young children. Lulu is a little chick that is having trouble sleeping at night, fearful of the creatures that might 'get' her, and so it's up to Momma Chick to reassure her and make her feel safe. The close bond between mom and child is beautifully captured here, as embodied by little Lulu and her Momma. The comic relief is also wonderfully conveyed in the fun illustrations, such as Momma pretending to chase away a bear, tiger, and alligator.
Highly recommended as a bedtime read for young children.

Yes, even more accolades for Lulu! My two-year-old daughter absolutely ADORES this book! Captivating illustrations and a charming storyline combine to create a book that is repeatedly requested at bedtime. My daughter enjoys the storyline so much that she even acts out the plot during the day, pretending to be either Lulu or Lulu's mommy chasing down the bear, the alligator and the tiger. If you do get the book, be sure to track down the hardcover version; it's well worth the price!

We love this book. The story is just the right length. It's fun to read and my daughter, age 4, often requests it. The pigs really make us giggle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Goodnight LuLu, August 11, 2008
This review is from: Goodnight Lulu (Paperback)
Just to add to the praises, this is really a cute book. My daughter (3 years old) loves this book. She has a baby doll (coincidentally named LuLu) so, when I ran across the book at the library, I thought we'd give it a whirl. Turns out my intuition was right. Not only was she captivated by the coincidental naming of the main character, the bright vibrant pictures but also the dialogue. She could "read it" from memory after I read it to her only a few short times. It is a really cute story that really assimilates with toddler bedtime. She especially likes the ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hilarious story, September 2, 2004

I wasn't expecting this book to be as good as it is, but it's really funny. I love it just as much as my toddler. This is a book I'll get more of for gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Adorable Night-time Story!, June 20, 2003

We have enjoyed Goodnight LuLu immensely! Bedtime can be scarry for youngsters. They worry about the dark, if they are being protected by their caregivers, and if they are safe enough to fall off to sleep. Bogan's book offers a light hearted comforting story of a mother chicken who has all the bases covered so that her baby can fall off to sleep without a worry in the world. It's an original and whimsical approach to a common theme, and it rises above the other bedtime stories that we've read to our 4 kids over the years. Thank you, Paulette Bogan, for a classic-to-be!

Wooooo, let's hear it for Goodnight Lulu! This book is truly one of the greatest new children's books around. Momma and Lulu are sure to win your hearts over with their oh too cute story about what if.... Momma?!!! The little creatures in the story are great characters and the dialog is great for new readers and for playing with voices. The love between Momma and Lulu will just warm your heart. Paulette Bogan's illustrations are very charming and alive with wonderful colors, which makes it fun for both children and parents. As a babysitter, I was delighted to read the book again and again! This summer's guide to sweet dreams. Books such as Goodnight Lulu are what makes reading with kids great... I give it 5 stars, three thumbs up!
