Perfect for reluctant readers!,

My six-year-old son is a reluctant reader and he LOVES this book! In response to the vulgarity issue, it's pretty mild (Pupu and Puke are names of characters). Hey, if a little potty humor is going to get my son to voluntarily read on his own, then bring on the poop jokes. We'll definitely be ordering more Goofball Malone titles!

This is a good book. The early-reader format gives large font-size and easy-to-manage vocabulary words. I like the plot, and the fact that the mystery is solvable through the clues -- no surprise ending. Funny riddles, too.
I'm withholding a star for unnecessary vulgarity. One character is nick-named "Puke," the clown is called Pupu (say it out loud), and there is unnecessary name-calling. |
