LaTisha’s cook overhears a hitman being hired to take out the mayor. Then said hitman turns up dead and the plot thickens like a pan of stale gravy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your Goose Is Cooked September 3, 2012

Lord, this is a funny book. The husband/wife duo are so real to life. They remind me of a couple who worked for us in our restaurant. They truly loved each other and snapped one liners at each other all day long. It is so nice to read a story such as this with smart, quirky, lovable black and white people intermingling with each other where race is not the dominating factor. The fact that the strong community relations in LaTisha's town are something we can all try to emulate.

The Author should get busy and write some more.

I loved the character, so down to earth and loveable. Great writing, it was talking to someone casually, if that makes sense.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unique and downhome funny. June 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The characters in this book are different than I expected. The overweight, mother of seven, self-proclaimed detective with her undersized and musical spouse of 40 years is a delight in itself. The home town atmosphere reminds me of my home town. The only thing I can say against it is that there are too many names to keep track of. Of course this may just be my advancing age.

All in all, it is a fun book to read but not necessarily one to keep.

Third in the LaTisha series, and loved it ! I enjoy the way Dionne Moore writes, and the way the story flows, holding your interest, and making you laugh a lot at LaTisha and her better half. Good writing, and good reading. Hope to find more of the LaTisha series

5.0 out of 5 stars Made me want even more of LaTisha! August 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
These three mysteries get high marks! Who said you can't be a Godly woman, over 50, and still get in trouble! LaTisha has more smarts than she knows what to do with, is a fabulous cook and a crackerjack of a sleuth on par of Jessica Fletcher! Only thing I disliked was there are only three in the series!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ms Barnhart triumphs August 2, 2013

This series has a delightful main character who takes "nothing from no one" so to speak. I can "hear" her and "see" this character and she is delightfully refreshing. A good read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disjointed writing January 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It took me a bit to get into the writer's style. I tended to get lost with all the characters. The writing seemed disjointed and choppy in places. While the premise was good, I really had a hard time with following the storyline. I don't think I will continue with the series.

Wonderful homey mystery. laTisha and Hardy's relationship as husband and wife sleuths is funny and heart warming. If you read the other two books in this trilogy you see the characters in the minor sub plots that are endearing. I need more LaTisha and Hardy!
