Damn Good for a "has to do".,

They say you cant wear out a CD. I sure hope so. I've played this CD 1000's of times and I am sure it will be 1000's more before I stop. On the down side, some of the cuts are are only ok but then I would have been happier with more familiar songs like Uncle Pen however, none are bad enough to skip over. On the good side the Goose has only gotten better as musicians. The jams are tight and original, and the changes are absolutely amazing. Although overtly Blue Grass, there is enough rock, jazz, and even classical music here to please almost anyone who listens to it. Theres even a touch of Hendrix and Beatles. As much as I would love to get copies of the Gooses original recordings this will do damn well for now. It has too.

Difinitive for any complete southern collection,

Any Goose Creek album is a must have for any souther rock, folk, Greatful Dead, or plain out music fan. They truly capture the essence of the early beginnings of what is now called southern rock. Goose Creek Symphony must be had in order for any music fanatic to begin to "complete" their collection.

I've never heard music so easy to get lost in.,
By Chris Minton (stuminch@acs.eku.edu) (Richmond, Kentucky) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Goose Is Loose (Audio CD)
Goose Creek Symphony is the ultimate band. A friend of used to always talk about them, and I thought he was crazy. Then I purchased "The Goose Is Loose", and I too am a believer. This is by far the most complete cd I've ever listened to. I think the greatest thing about the Creek is that they are so good, yet so unknown. It amazes me that this band isn't a worldwide force. I asked my dad if he had heard of Goose Creek, and he laughed and goes, "I can't believe they're still around." This group definitely has staying power. This cd was stolen, along with about 250 others, from me 2 years ago, and it is by far the cd I miss the most. The soothing tones of "I Am The Earth" still ring in my mind, and bring back memories of countless days laying around with my fellow Gooseheads, enjoying how great life can sometimes be.
