5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Pregnancy pains
I bought these for my wife when she started getting back pain from pregnancy. I thought that they would be soft and rubbery, but they were pretty stiff. After reading the instructions, I learned they weren't supposed to be rolled or used for massage. You are just supposed to lean on them; use them as pressure points. My wife loved them. Several times, it's the only thing...

1.0 out of 5 stars Why $40 for this??
My husband used to have one and wants another - but why are these $40??? Should be about $15. Are they no longer being manufactured or something? What gives?

I bought these for my wife when she started getting back pain from pregnancy. I thought that they would be soft and rubbery, but they were pretty stiff. After reading the instructions, I learned they weren't supposed to be rolled or used for massage. You are just supposed to lean on them; use them as pressure points. My wife loved them. Several times, it's the only thing that took away her back pain. We even packed them in the hospital bag, and they worked through the early part of labor. My wife would say they're worth it.

I love these! I use them almost daily to get rid of tension knots. The Goose Bump is between my back and a wall, and I roll away. You have to becareful on your walls though. I press so hard I have worn a whole in my plaster. My muscles feel great though. Massage is as deep as my massage therapist. Couldn't live without these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best kept secret, November 4, 2006

I've had a set of these for years. I keep one in my car at all times. Ever get a kink in your neck that hurts so bad you can't turn you head to see if someone is in the other lane? Just put one of these between your shoulder blade and the cars seat. The little goosebumps will release the tension enough so that you can actually move your head. It's like magic.

Lower back pain? Lay on it in bed or put behind your back while sitting at the computer.

If you enjoy deep tissue massage and find that most people can't apply enough pressure to the knots in your back then you will be in for a real treat with these.

The only downfall is trying to get the top of the shoulders. There is no easy way to position your body so that the very top of your shoulders will press into the balls without contorting yourself which defeats the purpose of trying to relax the back muscles.

Also the spikes can hurt against the bare skin. I recommend wearing a shirt or wrapping a t-shirt around the ball.

5.0 out of 5 stars great foot massager, August 9, 2007
Very useful. Anytime my feet ache or are tired I just roll my bare feet over them and my feet and me feel much better. Very valuable. If my feet feel ok then the rest of my body feels better, too. I have recently purchased a theracane, knobble, davinci tool, as well as another massage ball, the trigger point handbook and the frozen shoulder workbook and these goosebump balls. All these tools have helped me to learn about my body and the healing process. In fact, I was unable to wear my new running shoes because I was experiencing burning in my arches of my feet. After rolling my feet slowly on the goosebump balls for a few weeks - first slowly and gently and then with increasing pressure - my feet became stronger and more conditioned and now I wear my new shoes pain free. This was very encouraging to me in my healing journey and maybe this product can help you as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for feet, September 25, 2008

I love these for my feet. I have Plantar Fasciitis and these work much better to massaging my feet than regular balls. They are made out of a very hard plastic so I need to wear socks while using them but they feel great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, August 24, 2009

I've recently started running and the arches of my feet have been the primary causality. These GooseBumps really do relieve the strain in my arches and heels. I'm actually rolling my feet on them as I type this review. I just take off my shoes when I get to my desk and roll or rest my feet on them. At $10 these are a great deal and I'm already feeling better. Thanks!

I also thought these massage balls would be softer and need to use socks when I use them. They do help improve the circulation when I roll over them with my foot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Better, December 20, 2008

I, too, have had mine for years. I have tried many types of massage and pain relief products, but this is by far the best. It is especially good for those knots you get in the top of the shoulders after a long period of sitting at a desk.

These are very hard, but it is their firmness that makes them so effective. And, unlike some of the other similar products, the nodes on the surface seem to be a perfect shape to push into tight muscles. If your skin is sensitive, simply use them with a layer of clothing between them and the skin.

The best way I've found to use these is lying on my bed. I put them under my shoulders -- especially just where the neck meets the shoulders -- and simply relax over them. I move them as needed. These are also amazing for those nights you just can't get to sleep. If you don't have a partner available for a neck massage before bed, these are the next best thing!

I agree with one of the other reviewers who said this was some of the best money I've ever spent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, November 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this mainly for my feet and hands, and it does provide some relief. The ball is larger than other balls I've seen (larger than I prefer, actually, but that's a plus for a lot of people). It is also a hard ball. It took some time to figure out how it works best for ME, but the more I use it, the more I like it.
