A Kid's Review
This review is from: Goosed! (Paperback)
I would rate this book a 3 and a half, because the book is cute and I personally love animals but, there's not much action though.
The book is called Goosed! and Bill Wallace is the author. The books a short read that's 125 pages and I would recommend it for 7-10 or 11 year olds.
The genre is realistic fiction the story is kind of like Winn Dixie because they both have dogs and their very mischief.
The book is about a dog called T.P. She has a nice family but then her owner's girlfriend goes camping and they leave a puppy for T.P.'s family eventually they wind up keeping it. The story is told from T.P.'s point of view so it's like T.P. adjusting to a hyper little puppy who loves asking questions.
That puppy gets in a lot of trouble so you can imagine what that's like, woahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you see the cover after reading this, you will understand everything.
My favorite part is at the end. She looks so cute and cuddly wrapped in a little towel and they even have a picture its on page 125.
I like this book because it was funny and has dogs and cats!

Book Review- Goosed Name- John Liam
Very Good
This book, Goosed, by Bill Wallace is a very good fictional animal story. This story takes place in a house with a dog and with his owner, a boy named Jeff who has some problems with telling his parents things at the last minute. You see T.P. is a dog and he's always in a good mood even when he gets in trouble. T.P. got his name by causing a T.P. with toilet paper around the house, T.P. lives with a cat named Cord and Cord is a very sensitive cat because if someone tries to attack him, he scratches them like when T.P. tried to attack him, Cord gave T.P. a great scratch. T.P. always does something to make the mom and dad mad, like he scratches the window when he wants to show them something. But there's a problem, Jeff's friend Mandy Bowen had a liter of 6 pups. They sold 5 but they want Jeff to baby sit the last one when Mandy and her parents go on Spring break. Jeff is in big trouble because he said he'd take care of that last dog without, asking his parents. So now he's waited until the last minute to tell hi mama and daddy so they're furious with him because he told them on the day that Mandy was leaving.
The Problem is that when the puppy gets over to the house T.P. feels like that puppy is taking his place in the family because Jeff loves that puppy instead of T.P. For example- after T.P. does his business in the snow Jeff only let that puppy in and T.P. had to keep scratching at the porch door for 5-10 minutes. That's why T.P. is feeling that that puppy is replacing him. Any way, one day when Jeff, Mandy, Mocha (The new puppy), and T.P. went to the park to play. Problem was that Mocha thought a goose was her ball, so she swam after it. And when she got to the goose the goose saw Mocha and tried to drown her. T.P. swam after Mocha when the goose was drowning her and when T.P. got to the goose; T.P. and the goose started a WWE smack down. A few minutes later T.P. defeated the goose and Mocha swam out of the water.
When they got home T.P. started to like Mocha but she still kept asking him 300 questions at a time. So T.P. got used to living with Mocha but he still had to find out a way to shut her up. So she doesn't ask to many questions at a time. So if you read this story it's kind of funny and kind of scary.

Sibling Rivalry for Dogs, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Goosed! (Paperback)
A few weeks back I saw GOOSED! mentioned on several different blogs and thought it would be a great book for 8 yo "J" to read this summer. I ended up reading it to him a few chapters at time in the evenings, but that's okay because we both enjoyed it. The story is told from the point of view of T.P., the perfect buddy dog. He lives contentedly with "his boy" Jeff, Mama, and Papa. T.P. knows that he's a dog and they are people, but he doesn't really have a grasp of the fact that the differences between people and dogs are significant. He thinks they're all pretty much on equal footing. He also gets along great with the family cat, Cord. Then one day, a strange and annoying creature comes for a visit, and T.P. begins to feel displaced.
Author Bill Wallace has a great sense of humor, and "J" and I chuckled throughout this amusing little story. "J" particularly liked the explanations of how T.P. and Cord got their names. There's a lot of action to keep a youngster interested, and the story moves along at a pretty good clip. The goose itself doesn't make an appearance until almost the end of the book, but before that there's some cantankerous coyotes and a giant rabbit or two for T.P. to contend with.
At almost 9 years old, "J" certainly didn't need me to read this book to him, but I'm pretty good with voices and dialogue (if I do say so myself!), and Bill Wallace provided me with an excellent script. I think the parallels between T.P.'s experiences and any sibling rivalry between "J" and his sister were completely lost on him, but that's what this story is really all about: T.P. has to learn to adapt to a new member of the family and basically learn how to be a "big brother."
This book is a lot of fun and provides some postive lessions in a wholesome package. Bill Wallace has written dozens of books for kids, and we're certainly looking forward to bringing a few more home to our family!
