Patricia S. and Ray E. Ashton Jr. have worked together as field biologists and educators for nearly thirty years. They founded Finca de la Tortuga Ashton Biological Preserve, the Ashton Biodiversity Research and Preservation Institute, Inc., and the Gopher Tortoise Conservation Initiative (GTCI).

I bought this book thinking it was a more scientific study, then realized when it arrived that it was a children's book. I did learn a few things I didn't know, but be aware that you are buying a book for 12 year olds.
