This is an excellent application that delivers what it promises...as long as dedicated amateurs have one of their radios tuned to provide the sources it feeds.

While some people might find listening to emergency services radios voyeuristic or creepy: as somebody who spends far more time each day in a car trying to get to and from work, this app offers --at least where I live-- true value added.

My daily commute takes place between two major metropolitan areas, in an area that mostly is overlooked during drive-time traffic reporting. The police/fire feed for the county where that 90% of my daily commuting occurs provides valuable early warning about incidents on roads that traffic reporters would be telling me about far too late...if at all.

Easy to use; search by name, genre or location, or search for any audio within a radius near you. Rock solid functionality on an HTC Evo 4g

Very few differences between this and the free version. Paid version drops ads, and adds a pause/play button that is persistent between sessions (and you can run the free and paid version at the same time to follow two programming sources).

1.0 out of 5 stars Great App "IF".... May 2, 2012

I've used the free version for few months and had not one issue with the features so I decided to get the paid version and if not for the issues such as the slow and I mean slow retrieving of directories and not having the option to save favorites cause it just keeps saying failed to save to favorites I sure would have rated this 5 stars but since I paid for this and everything is not working 1 star is the best I think at this moment this app deserves, maybe if they fix this then I will fix my rating to reflect....

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Application December 20, 2011
This is a very solid and often used application.

It does make me humbled, however, that I used to pride myself for having a permit to carry my $600 scanner in my vehicle.

Now, with this fine app, any zit-faced kid with a cellphone can do the same thing.

Better living through technology...

I can even listen to it while I read the same books and all. It covers most areas of the country.

Some get turned off then you have to hunt around to find one that is on at their web site but it is Well worth the trouble.

PS it also listen to the Ham Radio Repeaters and such.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Turns Your Phone Into A Police Scanner March 27, 2011

I got this app for my Droid 2 a couple of weeks ago. I just love it! It was extremly easy to find my local police, fire and ambulance. You can save different county emergency scanners as favorites so you don't have to re-search for them each time you want to change counties. I highly recommend this app!

I was totally surprised to see this application offered for my cell phone. I listen to radioreference.com online occasionally and didn't know it was even offered on droid. It was easy to download and after only a few clicks to United States then my state and my county and boom...I had my local police/fire/ems etc.
Thanks to all who made this app possible.
I LOVE IT!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars It works
Haven't listened to it a lot yet, but it does work. It would probably come in real handy if there were an actual emergency in your area.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hate it.
does not give me local police. Gives me the little town north of us. But not my town. Which is a bigger city. Would not recommend it. Wasted my points on it.

Ones hosted by RadioReference.com are already included in the directory.

I've wanted to include LiveATC.net's but they won't allow me to do so. You can listen to audio that's hosted by LiveATC.net by adding links to theirs in the "Custom Scanners" section of the app.

To do that, run... Read more
