5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent bio. & career review of this unparalleled talent., February 7, 1999
By A Customer
Gordon MacRae was a talent not soon, if ever, to be equalled and Bruce Leiby has done a marvelous job of telling his story and documenting his career in this one-of-a kind book that encapsulates his life and career in an easy to follow format.

Mr. Leiby writes Gordon MacRae's biography without passing judgment on the man but in such a way that the reader learns more about the entertainer than was generally made public. While not available in bookstores, this work is a most helpful research tool for the serious student of Gordon MacRae and one this reader and fan has found invaluable in knowing & understanding one of the greatest entertainers of our time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for the average reader looking for good reading., June 27, 2002
By Kathryn J Poschke (Bridgman, MI USA) - See all my reviews
If all you want is to write about how many songs Gordon MacRae has sung or what the names of the films are that he's been in, then this book is for you. However, if your looking for his story to be told with some emotion, or some of Gordons own remembrances, this is a waste of money.Written in a way that is dry as dust! Jumps from one subject to another so that you're left hanging. Terrible reading. Very few pages of his story, and all the rest is documentation. Not many photos.
