I'll say from the get-go I'm a fan of all things Gordon. So when I saw a few things (albeit at KMart, not Amazon) of his -- this knife and cutting board and a 16 piece dinnerware set, I gave them a very cautious chance. I am perhaps an overcritical person with my kitchen goods, and I am far from gentle with them; in fact, Chef Ramsay would probably have an anxiety attack seeing how I can abuse my knives and cutting boards, lol. I have had these for 2 1/2 years and still can't say anything bad. From Kmart, I would have expected the dishes tonne half gone, cracking through the first winter as soon as I put dinner on them even though Im in Southern California and it's typically not very cold here for it. I write this during the 2013-2014 winter season when it has been the coldest in the almost-eight years I have lived here.

So -- this specific product. First, the cutting board. A nice, solid slab of bamboo. Has a good weight to it. Sturdy. I don't have a dishwasher, either a person nor machine, so I do them by hand. Even if I had, I still would, and in fact the cutting board MUST be done so or you will risk mold developing. (To sanitize, clean normally, then use 4 cups of boiling water add 1 cup of vinegar (regular white distilled...
