I was a little confused as to how many episodes and how many seasons of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares this disk set includes. Considering the low price, I decided 'what the heck' and bought it anyway. And I think it's definitely worth the price.
This set includes 4 disks: -Disk One includes 4 episodes from Season One, each episode with a 'revisit'. It includes Ramsay's very first "kitchen nightmare" - Bonapartes. The revisit episodes do include quite a bit of the original episode, including when Ramsay first revisits 1-3 months later, but I think these are worth watching as they show the restaurant several months to a year down the road as well. I just skipped through the scenes I had already seen in the first episode, so I didn't end up watching everything twice. -Disks Two and Three include 8 episodes of Season Two, including my personal favorite, "Momma Cherri's". Disk Two has two revisits and Disk Three has no revisit episodes. -Disk Four includes 4 episodes of Season Three, including two more revisits. Altogether, you are getting 16 episodes with 8 revisits. I saw two different regions listed for this disk when contemplating purchasing it and was a little confused with that as well - FYI, this disk IS coded for U.S. DVD players. Once again, I think this is a great buy for the price and you get the 'best of' episodes from the first 3 seasons. One last note - this is the unedited version, which is actually a lot more enjoyable, but keep this in mind if you have small children around, who are likely to pick up a cuss word or two from Chef. =)

You are not being short-changed,

Everybody who has commented needs to understand that British television does not have "Seasons" they have "Series" and they are not the same. American television is based on seasons usually running from Sep/Oct through Apr/May. British shows have no specific airing schedule nor length. The British Kitchen Nightmares Series 1 (Season 1 to Americans) only consists of 4 episodes; Series 2 is 8 episodes; Series 3 is 4 episodes; Series 4 is 6 episodes; and Series 5 is 8 episodes. To better understand this check out Internet Movie Database [...].

conflicting reviews? I know I was so here ya go:
First of all, the Amazon "editorial review" is incorrect. This set includes Series 1, 2, and 3. That is essentially Seasons 1-3 in US terms. Don't know why the producers of this DVD collection deemed it necessary to label it Vols.1-2 cause that makes no sense. Anyway, on to the individual discs. Disc One contains the original Episodes 1-4 from Series 1. They are: 1) Bonaparte's 2) The Glass House 3) The Walnut Tree 4) Moore House Each of these episodes is approximately 49 minutes in their entirety, and they are accompanied by yet another episode titled "Revisit" where Gordon returns to survey his handiwork at each restaurant. Likewise, these episodes are also about 49 minutes, but they include only about 7 minutes of new footage per at the end, the rest being a condensed version of the original airing. But, there are still 8 "episodes" in Disc 1. Disc Two: 1) Lanterna 2) D-Place 3) Momma Cherri's (Plus a revisit "episode") 4) La Riviera (Plus a revisit "episode") Disc Three: 1) The Sandgate 2) Clubway 41 3) Oscar's 4) La Gondola Discs 2-3 represent the original BBC Series 2. Disc Four: (Series 3, or Season 3 to us Yanks) 1) La Parra de Burriana (Plus revisit) 2) The Fenwick Arms (Plus revisit) 3) Roccoco 4) Morgan's Now before you ask, there are two more abbreviated Series (Seasons) that consist of 8 more episodes but to date they have not been released in the US so don't bother looking on Amazon, you'll be disappointed. They are however available in the UK and Australia so maybe we wont have to wait much longer. All of the BBC Nightmares shows were great, and they are all totally uncut and uncensored. Here you get Gordon Ramsay in his full bloom, with all the energy, passion, and straightforward "no punches pulled" glory, and man does he every sort out these failing restaurants and puts them back on the road to success, but its never easy and Gordon seems to relish in the challenge. If your only familiarity with this iconic figure is the dumbed down US versions of Hells Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, you owe it to yourself to check out this series. All of Gordon's brilliance, tenacity, charm, and compassion comes shining through in each episode. And after watching, you will agree that this series is much more honest than anything you've seen on Fox Network. BTW, the "Bio" on G.Ramsay is very interesting for devoted fans.
