Editorial Reviews

Review

“?. don’t let the name fool you. This is food by the much lauded Michelin-starred Jason Atherton and as such you won’t walk away from a three course meal for two with any change from [$200]. That said, for the experience, the cooking, the interior and lighting, the passion of the staff and the quality of the ingredients is worth every penny.” --Mondo magazine

Gordon Ramsay's Maze is a book you'll just want to relax and enjoy.
The photos in the book will stir up your appetite.
Gordon Ramsey keeps his restaurant somewhat simple, but many of the recipees are pretty different and exotic.
It makes me want to go straight to his restaurant and just watch and taste to my heart's desire.
This book is a must have.If you are a fan of Gordon Ramsay, you need to get this book. Everything sumptuous and simple, but really most I wouldn't dare tackle in my own kitchen.

One word to start with, "amazing!". It became my favorite chef Ramsay's book. Great presentation of dishes and very sophisticated recipes. It's been a while since they published this cooking book but the style of the dishes in this book feels still very up to date. I bought it after I borrowed it from a library. I just fell in love with this. The recipes have a good depth in them. Whoever wants to try a serious cooking at home or if you are a professional chef and collect reference cooking books, this is one for you. I hope this helps. Thanks!

As a cookbook collector and chef, I bought this book somewhat hesitantly. I knew it wasn't a Gordon Ramsey book per se, and I wasn't too familiar with Jason Atherton. But I was very pleasantly surprised. The book is beautiful and contains many fantastic restaurant-style dishes, as well as a number of more home-style recipes. Each time I pick up this book, I am always so impressed with how good of a book it is. While they may not be Gordon Ramsey's dishes, this is finally a book with his name that lives up to his real culinary reputation.

Recipes are mostly grouped in three's, each of which feature the same or similar ingredients. So you will have three recipes featuring peas, or three featuring cod, et cetera. This book is a must for chefs and cookbook collectors, and certainly recommended for those who love the art of food. Beautiful food and very well done. This is a great highlight to Jason Atherton...just too bad Gordon Ramsey plastered his name all over the cover.

After reading through the book, then choosing a few recipes, it is clear why Maze was awarded Michelin Stars. There is a great blend of complexity and simplicity in every dish. The food produced from these recipes is of great quality and only the best flavors. Jason Atherton does a wonderful job of adding his own personal connection to the dishes that made Maze the Best New Restaurant of the year when it opened. If you enjoy cooking meals of the highest caliber then this book needs to be in your hands. Jason takes complex dishes and breaks them down into easy to follow recipes, with good hints and tips, and great pictures. There is no doubt this book will inspire and have you cooking like a master chef in no time for your friends and family. Enjoy!

GORDON RAMSAY'S MAZE features recipes by Jason Atherton and dishes from Gordon Ramsay's world-famous Maze restaurant. From this one might surmise it's just a collection of the restaurant's winning dishes - but it's more. They're presented as they'd be served in the restaurant and are followed by additional recipes using the same main ingredients geared to everyday meals. Home cooks will find this a fine collection based on a collection of small dishes as well as traditional two- or three-course meals, and lending libraries will appreciate the color photos throughout.
