1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe im missing something
Although a slight improvement over other gore artists(C.C., Mortician), its still the gurgle death metal with a shock tag. While the lyrics may be entertaining to some, the music is pitiful. Uncomplex, uninspired, hell, this could be done by the Stone temple pilots. I would say that Cryptopsy rules above these posers. I hope the whole gore death metal phase ends when...

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow..., March 26, 2006
This review is from: Gore Metal (Audio CD)
If you're some speed freak constantly looking for new heights in grindcore depravity, look no further. I originally found this in my local mall, (hah) browsing for an Exodus CD. When I caught a glimpse of "Gore Metal," I was intrigued. I mean, just look at it. When I placed it on the checkout counter, the clerk looked at me like I was insane. If there's a better sign of a great album, I'd like to know what it is.

There's not alot to say here. The guitars literally sound like chainsaws, appropriately enough. The bass is pretty much drowned out by the overwhelming drums, and the vocalist's scathing grunts reach subterranean levels. Though brisk tempo changes run amock, the music here isn't exactly enviable in its virtuosity. Exhumed pride themselves on brutality, and strong grooves. "Deathmask," "Limb From Limb," among other classics, are highly infectious. Exhumed's "Gore Metal" doesn't exactly propel metal into a new level of subtlety, but it gives what it promises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh my gore..., September 15, 2004
This review is from: Gore Metal (Audio CD)
If you want to talk about gore, sickening and turning your stomach kinda of subjects ? Look no further then exhumed! I mean, the guys from exhumed have been releasing nothing but pure ,insane, brutal, gory, disturbing music for aslong as i can remenber and i love every moment of it!

Exhumed's music is like a brick hitting your head nonstop and yet? You love every moment of it and wish it can happen again and again and again till you can no longer feel anything in your body.

"gore metal" is exhumed's best album in my opinion not only for the content of each song but also how well produced it realy is and it truly shows, during each song. Trust me, when you go in a cd store near you ? Ask for exhumed's "gore metal" but if you can't find it? Get another album by exhumed because when you listing to them, you'll know what talent sounds like and, just smile nonstop.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast Evil Grind Core., April 12, 2003
This review is from: Gore Metal (Audio CD)
What can I say about this album besides the fact that is very fast and very evil sounding. In a way it sounds similar to "Carcass" just ten times faster. True Grind Core metal this album blew me away when I first heard it. My ears rang afterwards for a few minutes it was so intense.

Exhumed: Gore Metal is a must buy for every metal head but unfortunately there following up second album "Slaughterclut" didn't top this one. In Gore Metal you had all four members Matt Harvey, Col Jones, Mike Beams, and Ross Sewage. In Slaughtercult you had Ross Sewage (Death Throat) leave the band which just left the remaining three.

By all means purchase this album now, it is truely a wicked taste of death and thrash straight from the pits of hell! Hopefully there new album that comes out in July of 2003 is good. Oh well, only time will tell.

5.0 out of 5 stars GORE METAL!!!!!, June 11, 2010
This review is from: Gore Metal (Audio CD)
If you are looking to push the boundaries, break new ground, and have your jaw drop to the Equator, then Exhumed's "Gore Metal" is definitely the way to go. These guys are like Slayer on ten cups of coffee, downtuned to B-standard and on a low-budget, B-film horror movie binge. Bludgeoning and lightning-fast drums, super-distorted bass to bring in a gigantic, full-sounding low section, and guitars that grind, crush, blast, shred, warp and smoke all throughout! As musicians, they are great, this controlled chaos is something to behold. The term "extreme" is definitely one to describe this band: They are one of the heaviest and most intense bands I've ever listened to, right up there with Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah, The Berzerker, Sleep, Behemoth, you get the idea. Overall, this is a great metal album, a true underground classic that should be enjoyed by all metalheads! Just don't bang your head too hard to these 200 BPM song tempos, but other than that, you should be doing great. Thanks for the time, and peace.

I'll keep this simple; EXHUMED is everything death metal should be. The guitars actually sound like chainsaws, the speed is astonishing, the BRUTALITY of the music exceeds any other death metal I've ever heard, and somehow they make it FUN TO LISTEN TO. This album is incredible fun in the same way a zombie movie is fun. Buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excuse me, where is your bathroom? I'm vomiting blood., June 20, 2000
This review is from: Gore Metal (Audio CD)
AHHHHH! Very sick and morbid gore metal from guys who know what they are doing. Fast as a speeding bullet drums, head massacre bass, blistering guitar, and two vocal styles-one to growl the acid out of your stomach and into the esophogus and a high screechy one to help vomit it out of your bloody mouth. The only reason why i'm lacking a star is because gore metal is exactly my "cup of tea" but if you're into it.........wait, chances are you're not into it because any fan of gore metal would already have this! AAAHHHH my marrow is spilling from my finger tips! in other words, BUY IT

Take my word for it and make sure you listen to this one very loud through headphones to truly appreciate the brutality and awesomeness of this band. Hell yes, its totally mind blowing.

Top cuts...Enucleation, Casket Krusher, DEATH MASK and on and on. I'd this up against just about any death metal album in terms of sheer brutality. Ridiculiously heavy.
