I have been using the Gorilla camera arm for several years now. All in all it is a decent product. The reasons I only gave it 3 stars are as follows: 1. the arm is not long enough. I ended up building an extension to get the camera out in front of me(12"aluminum square tube) so when I stand up to shoot(bow hunting) the camera isn't blocked by my fat a$*. 2. I wasn't particularly fond of the tripod head. I robbed a small ball head from one of my old tripods and replaced the head that came on the gorilla arm so I now have a lot more control over the camera. 3. The ratchet strap mount makes it a little heavy and difficult to attach in the dark. But, once it is attached to the tree it is very sturdy.I have filmed quite a few hunts and have had no issues since I made some changes to the original product. I am pretty picky about my tools for filming and still photography, so this product will probably work fine for most people. If you are a serious videographer and don't like tweeking new equipment you may want to look for something different.

You get what you pay for, for someone who is going to film just for there own enjoyment it may be Ok, I found it a bother to hook on a tree when your 15 feet in the air and for not a great amount of money more you can get a fluid head and a longer better quality tree arm. I guess I can use it to hang my back pack on.

too heavy to carry to my tree stand, but would hold heavy video camera, silent swing arm, cumbersome to strap it on the tree. if you have a buddy to carry some heavy stuff its all good, or you can strap it on your tree the day before your hunt.
