5.0 out of 5 stars I now have one alarm for each bike
I bought the first gorilla alarm last summer for my 2003 Honda 750 ACE,Bought the second for our 2004 Honda Sabre 1100 about a month ago. the second one took less time to install, but both were easy, most time was deciding where to instal. I like the feature giving me the option to deactivate the motion sensor if it is really windy. The only thing that I haven't been...

3.0 out of 5 stars Motorcycle alarm
Good points - easy to fit, sensitive, loud if exposed. Less good points - no immobiliser, led difficult to fit (and doesn't work for me possibly because it is damaged in fitting); alarm separate to control unit would allow it to be more easily fitted where you can hear it. Overall good useful and much better than nothing.

I like the feature giving me the option to deactivate the motion sensor if it is really windy. The only thing that I haven't been able to do is change the alarm siren to one sound rather than it cycling thru all five sounds, probably just me not doing it correctly. All in all I think the service making the purchase and the alarm performance is excellent

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alarm, better service, September 23, 2010

I bought this 7007 alarm and installed it in about a half hour. It is fantastic. It does everything it claims extremely well and I was most impressed with it. The sound is actually painful, and that's good. Now, a word of caution. I had a hell of a time finding a place to mount it on my Triumph Thunderbird. Under the seat and side covers is impossible. There is just no room. Their next suggestion was in the tail section or under the rear fender. I found a spot finally up forward and inside the rear fender on the side, near the seat. This left at least 2 inches of clearance from the side of the tire so I didn't have to worry about it being hit during a ride over a big bump. They provide screws and bolts, a metal bracket and velcro for mounting. Not wanting to drill holes in my fender I cleaned the inside surface of the fender and the back of the alarm module with alcohol and then applied the self adhesive velcro to both. I guess I didn't wait long enough for it to cure but when I took my first ride it came off as I was entering the Interstate and by the time I got back to it at least one car had hit it. Not expecting much more than sympathy I called Gorilla Automotive and told them my story. Guess what? THEY ARE SENDING ME A BRAND NEW ALARM! I couldn't believe it. This is a great product backed up by a great company and super people. Thank you Gorilla Automotive. There aren't too many like you around any more.

And, by the way, 3M makes an industrial strength velcro which I am picking up at Ace Hardware tomorrow, just to be safe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little alarm..., October 24, 2010

Great product! I installed this one in my FZ6R since I need to leave it at a lightrail station. So far so good... sometimes it is very sensitive, while other time it is as dull as a hammer... A light touch can give a warning sound... Other time, I can rock the handlebar without setting off the alarm. But it's only the shocking sensor... Tilt and electrical disturbance always set off the alarm.
I got an alarm set-off in one day... probably some dudes wanted to check out the bike and it went off. I came home and the alarm told me it was set-off by shock! Really neat...
Definitely worth the 56$... Great price great product!

I found this alarm on the internet. So, I called and talked to the manufacturer customer service about the product. They were very helpful and the company has been in business for quite some time, which helps now days.
Was delivered in a timely manor and I went to work installing it.
I took my time to lay it all out and make good connections on the bike so it took longer than the 20 minutes they say it can be installed in. The manual is good and the setup is clear. I added a toggle switch (in a secure location) in the 12v line from the battery so I could leave it off except when I needed to use it while out traveling
I am very pleased with what I purchased and have recommended it to several of my fellow riders.

I bought this Motorcycle alarm to keep the sucka's off my bike. At this is works well. I have noticed that high winds will set the alarm off which can be annoying. You can lower the sensitivity so this doesnt happen but this also makes the alarm less effective. Better then nothing for sure.

Gorilla Alarms......(Work Great) they are Small and Easy to Install, And the price is right.
I have two of these alarms install on both of my motorcycles never had a problem with them.
"One Thing" if you don't ride a lot and you let your bike sit without starting it the battery will go dead......The alarm will drain your battery.
You can disconnect the fuse or you can get a (Battery Tender Jr) ONLY $30.00 bucks and save your One hundred dollar battery.
I have two Battery Tender Jrs and my bikes are always ready to go.
Once Again AMAZON- Great Service-Cheapest Price-FREE Shipping.

If you have a moped or motorcycle this is a must have. The installation can usually be done locally for around a $[...] OR you can self install as I did. Now Im no instal expert but if you follow the basic scheme in attaching the red and black wires to the correct terminals it is basically up and running. What I did was taper and mount everything under my moped seat next to the battery housing. I did not take the panels off and rout the flasher bulb all the way in the front near the ignition like a pro instaler would lol cause as I started messing with the panels I realized that would take a much bigger effort. Thus I settled on just having the motion sensor and tilt working well and stashed out of sight under my seat. Result is a great alarm that allows me to hop off my Moped- lock the steering to the left (Standard function on Sym) and chirp the alarm on. I run daily mail runs and bank visits and this is sooo much more convenient then the ole 25 pound chain that I have to load -n- lock etc. It worked well too once when a shady dude actually set it off while I was in the bank...He must have grabbed the steering or something but it went off without a hitch. I parked it outside near the lot and could see the guy walking away as it was going off. I was able to chirp it off and back on with out losing my place in line via the remote. Awsome time saver and a big value increase overall for my bike!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent first choice., March 28, 2010

This alarm was very simple to install. It probably took me a bit longer than standard time since I wanted it to be perfect, hidden out of sight with all the wiring tie wrapped and bundled away neatly. The shock sensor is very sensitive and the siren loud and sharp. Just a slight tap-tap with my finger tips sets it off. The sound of my garage door closing sets off the warning chirps! There is also an "alarm armed" LED that flashes and warns you and anyone near your bike that the alarm is still armed. The tip over sensor was probably the only part I found to be a bit hit-and-miss. I tried it in several different positions and can get it to go off about 70% of the time. The installation position for the tip over sensor is the most specific of the entire alarm set up and I was sure to put it in as specified.

In any case, getting near or touching the bike always causes a warning or alarm and now I'm very careful around it whenever I'm doing work in my garage, it's that sensitive. This model does not come with a 2 way pager or a kill switch, but it is excellent added peace of mind when I park my bike somewhere that I'm not able to be within quick view of it.

I would defenitely recomend this alarm to anyone else!

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit bulky, no adjustments, otherwise nice alarm, February 4, 2009
By
Shawn Brown (Tacoma, WA, USA) - See all my reviews
As hard as MC alarms are to find, this one is a nice one at a great price! But I was a bit unhappy about the fact you can't make any adjustments to the sensitivity (you can turn it to warn-away or off, but not adjust the sensitivity). I find myself turning off the shock sensor feature almost every time I use this alarm because every time a loud car drives by or someone's stereo is loud it sets off the alarm! All in all it's a great alarm though. Easy to use. However, the "installs in 20-30 minutes" claim was over-exaggerated. Even my MC dealer agrees. My service guy said it takes him twice that time to install. Heck, it took me almost an hour and a half to install only because I wanted to tuck the wiring away neatly. I didn't install the LED because I'm not ready to drill into my brand new $8500 bike! This alarm is cool, and very loud! People always do a double-take when they hear the arm or disarm chirps coming from a bike! Although it could use more features, it's a great alarm for the price and truly adds a bit more piece of mind to my LoJack. I WILL and DO recommend to my friends!
