For anyone who appreciates beautiful songwriting,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gorilla (Audio CD)
With a voice as clear as a bell, James Taylor's Gorilla is a great listen in virtually every cut. From his vibrant Mexico, to his beautifully structured harmonies in Lighthouse, and the unique title cut Gorilla, Taylor's album has the intimate feel that only truly gifted musicians can achieve. Close your eyes and you're in a dimly lit coffee house listening to his musical poetry. The depth of his songs compared to what passes for music today is a breath of fresh air. Well worth the money to add this to your collection, or to rebuy it if your's is an old and worn copy as is mine.

Incredible! You NEED this CD!,

A young James Taylor at his best! Includes the happy Mexico and How Sweet It Is, along w/ the sad I Was a Fool. Listen as Crosby and Nash synchratically harmonize as back up to James on Lighthouse or the soft-sung love that passionatly pours from Sara Maria. This is one of James' best ever. If I'm ever lucky enough to meet him, I will thank him for this album with a sincere gratitude.

James at his best,
By rocdoc (United States) - See all my reviews

I don't know how many times I've seen James Taylor in concert. I know that the second time was in a gymnasium at Central Michigan University in the Spring of '75, just a week or so before this album was released. Due to some events in my life at the time (Yes, I WAS a fool to care), these songs became almost immediately engraved on my primordial hard-drive. Now, older and (by some accounts)wiser, I still find this work very appealing and, from start to finish, both cohesive and comforting. It's hard to find a favorite track here...they're all great.
