A lot of my musician friends tend to laugh a little when i say that Floyd Cramer is cool. But he is, and this sweet little gospel record is ample proof. He plays the songs straight, allowing their simple beauty to shine through, uncluttered. It is especially nice to hear him solo, without a band or fancy arrangements.

This really represents Floyd's distinctive style well. This was a gift for my husband, who is a long-time fan, and he really loves it. I am glad that I could find it on Amazon!

It's hard to find exceptional arrangements of the old time hymns which are so meaningful, encouraging and inspiring! In the last month, I have been exposed to some timeless and moving music and Floyd Cramer is one of them. I have some catching up to do! :)

Floyd Cramer is known for his slip note style of playing the piano and he played on recordings by Elvis and Roy Obbison, among others. This is a smooth, relaxing CD of gospel classics and is great for background music, or for singing along, if the mood strikes you. Recommended.
