5.0 out of 5 stars Pax domini sit semper vobiscum
As a long time student of the Urantia Papers, I was prepared to be unimpressed by a revised and, perish the thought, dumbed-down version of the most thrilling story ever told. Instead, I found Gospel Gosepl: An Expanded Biography to be a carefully edited labor of love. Louis J. Bartolomeo's retelling of the fourth and final part of the Urantia Papers, the story of the...

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst book ever
If you enjoy reading plagerized material then this is the book for you. My sister and I purchased the book "Urantia" and low and behold the entire part IV is written in "Gospel Gospel" practically word for word. If you're into Cults then this is the book for you. Personally I found it a little bit too "new age" for my beliefs. I guess I'm just one of those people who...

As a long time student of the Urantia Papers, I was prepared to be unimpressed by a revised and, perish the thought, dumbed-down version of the most thrilling story ever told. Instead, I found Gospel Gosepl: An Expanded Biography to be a carefully edited labor of love. Louis J. Bartolomeo's retelling of the fourth and final part of the Urantia Papers, the story of the life, times, teachings, and religion of Jesus of Nazareth, reveals Bartolomeo, a New Hampshire architect and writer, to be a thoughtful and skillful editor with a light hand. It's an approach that is entirely in keeping with the daunting task the author set for himself.

I know of no other writer who has attempted to do what Lou Bartolomeo has accomplished. As one who, like the author, perceives the need for a less intimidating and more approachable version of part four of the Papers, I am delighted to find that Lou has produced such a lovingly edited work. No doubt purists will find fault with this or any other revised edition of the Urantia Papers, part or whole. We can hope such fault finding will lead to a wider and more vital discussion of the Papers and the concepts contained therein.

Lou's labor of love brings to mind a quotation found in part three of the Urantia Papers: "The God-knowing individual is not one who is blind to the difficulties or unmindful of the obstacles which stand in the way of finding God in the maze of superstition, tradition, and materialistic tendencies of modern times. He has encountered all these deterrents and triumphed over them, surmounted them by living faith, and attained the highlands of spiritual experience in spite of them. But it is true that many who are inwardly sure about God fear to assert such feelings of certainty because of the multiplicity and cleverness of those who assemble objections and magnify difficulties about believing in God. It requires no great depth of intellect to pick flaws, ask questions, or raise objections. But it does require brilliance of mind to answer these questions and solve these difficulties; faith certainty is the greatest technique for dealing with all such superficial contentions."

Gospel Gospel is a wonderful addition to the list of secondary works growing up around the Urantia Papers.

If you are bold enough and able to take on JESUS as BEST FRIEND, then this book is for you. It's like having Him with you every day, closer than a brother. Every human on Earth should read this book. The information within this book will transform any interested individual into a dynamo of love and service.
This book, if properly managed, would make a stellar television mini-series.
Urantians, let's get to work on this.

This review is from: Gospel Gospel: An Expanded Biography (Paperback)
This book is very close to the original documentation and is written in a very easy, flowing dialogue. It makes our love and appreciation overflow once again for Jesus -- who was and will always be the most important mortal who ever walked on this planet, as well as being God's Creator Son of our entire local universe. Jesus has promised us he will return, and he will in all of his Sovereign splendor when the time is right.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gaps Filled And Completely New Understanding!, March 24, 2007
This review is from: Gospel Gospel: An Expanded Biography (Paperback)
A very interesting look at the life of Jesus. Louis gives it a new prospective from the 21st century. Gaps are filled in the many forgotten years that you don't always hear about. A thick book that may take a while to read, but definitely worth the time and effort. I will refer back to it for many years!

Personally I found it a little bit too "new age" for my beliefs. I guess I'm just one of those people who believes in the bible as the true inspired word of God . "Gospel Gospel" is the biggest crock I've ever read. In fact, don't even bother buying it. If you've read the original book "Urantia" then you've basically already read "Gospel Gospel" because it's almost identical. If you don't believe me then just take both books and compare them yourselves. Has everyone lost their minds???? People, please get real and think for yourselves.
