1.0 out of 5 stars The gospel of Jesus Christ versus the gospel of goo
Pearson argues strongly against the truth of the gospels in "The Gospel of Inclusion". In his view, Jesus Christ lied when he said there was a hell because Pearson, apparently given new, mystical insight into the matter, has now announced to the world that there is no eternal punishment for some. Furthermore, "God is not a Christian" (p 10), and, he sniffs, "Religion is...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Inspirational, May 1, 2008
This review is from: The Gospel of Inclusion: Reaching Beyond Religious Fundamentalism to the True Love of God and Self (Hardcover)
The book not only brings you into the realm of the spiritual world, it provides you with a better understanding of the effects of religions in today's world. This book digs deep into the roots of religion and how it can be detrimental to society. With sveral different religions around the world and thousands of different denominations within those religions, it's easy to see why there's so much separation in the world today. Over the last 4,000 years, 5,000 different conflicts or wars have taken place because of religious differences. Where religions were supposed to unite us as a people, it has served to separates us.

The key point to this book is to unite people from all different types of backgrounds and let everyone know that they are already saved. It's to let us know that we are ALL included in salvation process. In addition, that this manufactured Devil with a pitch fork in one hand, horns on his head, and a tail is just that...manufactured! Fear-mongering tactics that have been used since the beginning of time.

The one question I asked myself after reading this book was "Would God allow for HIS children to be tortured for an eternity? Would a God who loves us so much, allow for children to suffer not just from an ordinary or quick death but to be burned in a pit of fire and remain in pain for an eternity?" That answer is NO! How could our loving and merciful God honestly enjoy himself in heaven knowing that the majority of HIS children are being tortured? This is why I don't believe in the Hell that has been manufactured by religious leaders of the past.

God loves you Always and Forever

5.0 out of 5 stars Religious Freedom, June 24, 2008
This review is from: The Gospel of Inclusion: Reaching Beyond Religious Fundamentalism to the True Love of God and Self (Hardcover)
This book demonstrates the difficulty with organized religion. The people involved almost invariably get into "power" struggles, determining who should think what. Evangelical Christians and those who visit "mega-churches" often times get into this way of thinking. The problem is that this stops people from thinking for themselves. Bishop Pearson has thought much about Christianity, and what it can bring to our lives. But he was rejected by his brethern for believing something that they did not agree with. I am glad that he didn't acquiese, but used his struggle to learn more about his relationship to God.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gospel of Inclusion, April 14, 2008

This review is from: The Gospel of Inclusion: Reaching Beyond Religious Fundamentalism to the True Love of God and Self (Hardcover)
This book is what i have been waiting for. The questions that I've pondered and wanted to ask for so long. We have been taught to believe that we are not to ask questions when it concerns God and his Word. However the true nature of God wants us to ask questions. How can we get answers if we don't ask? How can we being to understand and know God if we don't ask? For so long I was afraid and scared trying my best to Please God I have always felt like a failure always making the same mistakes and never wanting to ask God to forgive me because I felt so bad. I always wondered how could God be so forgiving and then hurtful at the same time. It didn't make since God loves his children so much he never wants to harm or hurt them. So this began a quest for Knowledge and Wisdom and today everything that I've ever been taught I have found to be False, Manipulating, and Deceitful only to control a Nation of people and to keep them blinded to the True Nature and Love of God and what he really did on the Cross. This book is right on Time with the work that God is revealing amongst The Body of Christ today. We are being Deprogrammed to be Reprogrammed by the Oneness of our Creator. This book opens alot of eyes and also captures the true essence of God and his very Nature. I love it and I reccommend it to any individual who has ever had questions but were to afraid to ask. God is waiting with the answers trust him and his power not false doctrine that has tricked and decieved us for Centuries. Its time to Awaken and Live the Life that God intended. Atlanta, Ga 30135

5.0 out of 5 stars Pearson hits the nail on the head!, January 18, 2010
By
I was a fundamental, dogmatic so-called-christian. After Bishop Pearson made his announcement of the Doctrine of inclusion, I too, was angry with him. I felt he betrayed the faith. However, a few months later, I heard a well known minister make a statement that if a christian doesn't pay tithes, s/he will be punished to hell. He then goes on to quote the scripture from the bible that would confirm this statement. I read the scripture and there was nothing remotely close to what he said matched that scripture. In a nutshell, the preacher lied! From that point on I was disillusioned with the christian doctrine and these so-called preachers who are in it for the money. They use fear to insight people to give their hard earned money so they can live in luxury while many of their parishioners struggle to make ends meet and pay these tithes.

I researched the scriptures, and learned that the bible is filled a lot of esoteric statements that can only be truly interpreted through a metaphysical understanding. Bishop Pearson's book is a breath of fresh air from God. Those that are on the path of truth will find this book as a signpost in the right direction. Don't stop with his book, but continue to research and find the truth for yourself.

Let no man direct your goal to find the truth as you see it. Remember the bible says, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (reverence and awe)." To me, this statement tells us to seek out the truth for yourself. This book will help.

Thank you Bishop Pearson for stepping out in faith and pointing seekers of truth in the right direction. The Gospel of Inclusion: Reaching Beyond Religious Fundamentalism to the True Love of God and Self

5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING!! and Life Changing, August 19, 2010

I am not a gullible person easily swayed by every wind of doctrine. This book is without exaggeration a life changing document.

It is equal in tone and insight to Martin Luther nailing the 95 thesis to the door of the Catholic church.
The author draws our attention to something called Christianity,INC vs. our desire for intimate relationship to God. Wow, should be read by every thinking person who claims to love the Lord.

There will always be those who know exactly what God is, and exactly what God means. So far, there are over 300 separate Christian denominations who know exactly what God is and exactly what God means.

Reading Carlton Pearson's book has made me question many of my beliefs and preconceptions. So, now I am wondering if it might be possible to read this book with a mind open enough to know that maybe Carlton Pearson is not exactly right, and maybe we are not exactly right either, and maybe God is bigger and more complex and more loving and more forgiving than any or our creeds or beliefs or denominations or individual certainties.

Just a thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Different Perspective Worth Pondering, March 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First of all, I applaud Bishop Pearson for taking a stand on what he believes. It took a great deal of courage to challenge the teachings of his upbringing and what is popular among evangelicals of the Christian Community. I have not finished reading the book. However, what I have read is well presented. At this point, I will not say I agree or disagree with the Gospel of Inclusion because I am still studying and doing research. However, I can say at this point, that we as the church do need to rethink our methods for dealing with individuals outside the church. As the author says, the church has fallen short in extending love and compassion to the lost. In closing, there are some strong points in favor of inclusion and against it as well. I am using this as an opportunity to study and rethink what I have been taught. I do encourage people to read this book instead of judging the author harshly as some have done in the christian community. Again, I am not endorsing all of his views, but there are some very strong points made in this book.

I too, come from a strong Pentecostal background, and found the gospel of inclusion lifting and liberating. I know God love us all equally, and have found too much of Christiandom to be exclusionary, unless you believe exactly as you are told. I give Bishop Pearson credit for holding firm to what he feels the Lord led him to teach. I will pray for him to remain strong, and for God's will in the matter of the inclusion gospel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life-changing, December 11, 2008
This review is from: The Gospel of Inclusion: Reaching Beyond Religious Fundamentalism to the True Love of God and Self (Hardcover)

The message, wisdom and Bishop Carlton Pearson's life story in "The Gospel of Inclusion" could change your life. He was a Christian mega-star, host of his own TV show and Oral Roberts' beloved protégé. Then God told him to preach a new message. Pearson told his story titled "To Hell and Back" to Keith Morrison on MSNBC.com. His book shows that all of God's children are already saved by the sacrifice of Christ¾gays, Muslims, Jews, atheists, everyone. Weaving theology, biblical scholarship and cultural history Pearson shows that the dogma of Hell is a device to control the faithful, that authoritarian religion is at the heart of the world's troubles, that God is not a Christian, but indeed belongs to all humankind. Dr. Mark Hanby said Bishop Pearson's book "has nailed a thesis to our church door and demanded reformation. He comes with the spirit of Elijah and the courage of John the Baptist and Paul the Apostle." Pearson says a new more loving life in Christ has opened to him, a life that is not motivated by fear or the threat of Hell. For the first time as a Christian he really not only loves God but has started to like him. Pearson explains, I've always had something to live for. This is the first time I've ever had something to die for."
