For those who love gifted commentary of our Lord's life, this book is perfect. The last work of Charles Spurgeon, as he labored to complete it before his untimely death, caused by inherited ancestral gout. Too bad they did not know how to treat it medically in the 19th century. For those who love Spurgeon, it is a "must have" book. A marvelous overview of the life of our Lord as presented by Matthew, and evaluated by Spurgeon. This is Spurgeon's only New Testament book commentary, and in a class by itself. Highly recommended.
