Coming from somebody who did not grow up going to church, I guess you could say this CD was a good introduction to gospel music, a music which I find very inspiring, soulful, and culturally enriching. I would say the only drawback to this CD is that the quality of the recording sound could have been better. The Gospel Soul Children are a local group from New Orleans, Louisiana, but being a small group definitely did not hinder their talent or ability to sing on a large scale. This is definitely worth checking out if you like gospel music.

i enjoyed this selection, but it missed the engergy that was felt in thier privious recording w/ Thomas Whitfield. it would be great to hear a reunion concert by the Soul Children.

I love traditional gospel music. I am young in age, but have an old soul. It is hard to find old hymns that are not sung in a contemporary format. This version of Pass Me Not, Oh Gentle Savior reminds me of how church used to be...it just stirs up my soul when I listen to it.
