5.0 out of 5 stars words have meanings
Having read many books on this subject, including the book by D.James Kennedy, I consider this the best. 3.0 out of 5 stars Over my head
I'm a Christian and I believe God made me, the Earth and the Universe and all things are held together in His Hands. But I'm not very scientific and know very little about astronomy. So this book went right over my head and I never got passed the first chapter. But I did pass it on to my bil who knows more about it and finds it interesting. So, my rating is based on...

This review is from: Gospel in the Stars (Paperback)
Having read many books on this subject, including the book by D.James Kennedy, I consider this the best. It does in fact take into consideration the fact that the stars have moved since the ancient names were changed to the modern. Also the MIRRACLE IN STONE, BY SEISS, was in conjunction with his study of the Temple at Ein Gaihdi, which depects the ancient zodiac of about the time of the flood. The simple fact overlooked by Hunt is that in the ancient languages, the stars tell the gospel. And the original purpose of the materials he drew from were actually a study in lexiconography whose purpose was to prove the existence of an original language on earth,,,and only happened to lead to the larger realization that the mysteries were a corruption of the ancient zodiac, and not as is commonly believed, that christianity drew on mystery sources. This is a must read for the Christian.....

5.0 out of 5 stars The most highly trusted and authoritative source...., July 29, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Gospel in the Stars (Paperback)
This book is certainly the most authoritative and trusted source on the subject of Biblical Astronomy. Having owned more than one copy of this text, as well as multiple copies of other manuscripts of this type(and having a background of Theological study), I can say without a doubt that this book is an absolute MUST HAVE for anyone interested in Biblical Astronomy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Brilliant Work Shows Traditional Views of Man Wrong, November 21, 1998
This review is from: Gospel in the Stars (Paperback)
I loved this book and think you will too. It shows that the original design of the cosmos created by a SUPERIOR MIND and Being told the story of mankind. Astrology is a cheap substitute for ancient truth. These ancient truths in no way conflict with the Scripture, rather they buttress it in many ways. An amazing work! I reviewed this work for a publication I edit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Signs in the heavens, October 7, 2006
This review is from: Gospel in the Stars (Paperback)
I disagree with the reviewers who quote the Berean Call where other "preachers" state that we are very God as in...(54. We are 'little gods' and even part of God with all the power of God; and we are 'little messiahs,' everything that Jesus ever was." (Hinn, The Berean Call, 1992 Media Spotlight Special Report, Feb 94).

The Word of God still speaks with authority about the signs in the heavens, and that has not changed.

I believe this is a thought-provoking book that should be compared with scripture for the complete picture.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for all Astonomers!, June 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Gospel in the Stars (Paperback)
If you study astonomy, professionally or as a hobby, and whether or not you are a Christian, read this book! Seiss shows substantial evidence for the constellations being established as the gospel story. If you believe astrology, read this and you'll find it's a perverted version of what was originally ordained by God. Many ancient pagan myths (Greek, etc.) were actually perverted from this proto-proto-gospel in the sky!

4.0 out of 5 stars This ties in with research done on the Bethlehem star., February 20, 2008
By
Humble Christian (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews
The book shows that the constellations were a prophetic prediction from the earliest times of the life and characteristics of Jesus. However, early Bablylonians corrupted the predictions into what we know as astrology. Psalm 19 says, "1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech;night after night they display knowledge. 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. 4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."

I want to refer readers to a site I discovered, [...], which gives information which lends credibility to this book. I recently studied the book of Daniel, and it is clear that the learned ancients understood the importance of celestial prophecy. We cannot even fathom the mind of God, however, the more we learn, the more we discover that the Scriptures are true.

The information provided in this book is excellent and insightful. Its presentation though makes it a little difficult to follow. I note that the original publication date was 1882 and maybe this is why it's not as easy as a more modern day version would be. I keep putting it down but have to keep picking it up again.

Very informative book. I did not know that the signs of the zodiac foretold the history of man. I also did not know that each sign of the zodiac had three accompanying signs that further explained each one. A fantastic and informative book that I plan to share with my family, after I finish reading it.

It is so wonderful to have the old out of print books brought back to life. They provide so much knowledge and wisdom that is not available in our present culture.

So, my rating is based on the fact that, as a novice, I couldn't get a handle on it. It didn't catch my interest. It is not based on whether Seiss is right or wrong or technically correct about his ideas.
