Review

"10 out of 10 Stars... GOSSAMER: A TALE OF LOVE AND TRAGEDY will blow you away my friends. It is that good." -- Peter Schwotzer/Famous Monsters of Filmland.

"Gossamer" is a mythical, almost philosophical book that strips the reader naked and forces us to challenge our assumptions about love with passages that will touch you in places inside yourself you forgot exist. - Anita Siraki/HellNotes

Lee takes the unlovely parts of real life and sets it in a setting so deliciously bizarre that you think you're simply reading a story, when in fact you're listening to a man sitting across from you and telling you all about pain. - Mercedes Yardley/Shock Totem

More About the Author

"Lee Thompson knows his horror-noir. He fuses both genres together in the turmoil of terror, tragedy, blood, guilt, and lost chances at redemption."-Tom Piccirilli, author of THE LAST KIND WORDS

Lee Thompson is the author of the Suspense novels A BEAUTIFUL MADNESS (August 2014), IT'S ONLY DEATH (January 2015), and WITH FURY IN HAND (May 2015). The dominating threads weaved throughout his work are love, loss, and learning how to live again. A firm believer in the enduring power of the human spirit, Lee believes that stories, no matter their format, set us on the path of transformation. He is represented by the extraordinary Chip MacGregor of MacGregor Literary. Visit Lee's website to discover more: www.leethompsonfiction.com

"WHEN WE JOIN JESUS IN HELL is as crazy as its tormented protagonist. Hard as nails." -- Jack Ketchum

"Thompson's voice is his own -- strong, hypnotic, and unsettling. Nursery Rhymes 4 Dead Children is a bleak f*cking book, and therein lies its danger. So beautifully-constructed is Thompson's prose, that the reader is often caught off-guard, mesmerized by a turn of phrase or a descriptive passage, until the book grabs you by the balls and rips them right off, breaking your heart and your psyche in the process." -- Brian Keene, author of DARK HOLLOW, GHOUL, and THE RISING.

"I've said it many times and believe it more everyday, Lee Thompson is not only the next big name at Delirium Books, but in the genre." -- Shane Ryan Staley at Darkfuse Publications

"Lee Thompson's prose is electric!" -- Bob Freeman, author of DESCENDANT.

"Like a dark Twilight Zone meets Alfred Hitchcock Mystery." -- Lee Thompson, author of NURSERY RHYMES 4 DEAD CHILDREN.

Lee Thompson started selling fiction in early 2010. His novels include NURSERY RHYMES 4 DEAD CHILDREN (Delirium Books, 2011) and THE DAMPNESS OF MOURNING (Darkfuse Publications, 2012). He also has novellas available and forthcoming from Delirium Books, Thunderstorm Books, and Sideshow Press. He's not a productive writer of short fiction, but has sold to magazines he loves, like Shock Totem, Dark Discoveries and Literary Mayhem.

Feel free to ask any questions on any of his book's discussion pages and he'll gladly answer them.

P.s.-- I heard from a reliable source that his readers rock.

I've read all of Lee Thompson's books and loved them all. But...

For me, research, or in this case, lack of it, can make or break a book. This story starts out in Salem during the witch trials of 1692. The author speaks of tin cans, newspapers, grocery stores, paper bags any many other things that simply weren't around in the Colonies.

Unlike spelling and grammar errors which can be fixed with updates, research errors live forever. If you're bothered by inaccuracies like I am this book is not for you. If you can get past that, this is a great story by an otherwise wonderful author. I'm just sorry he didn't take the time he should have on this book.

I read a complimentary copy of this novel from the author for an honest review.

Gossamer is one Hell of a ride! A sleep stealing rampage through your mental landscape. Lee Thompson doesn't just tap your emotions, he goes after them the way Angus Young attacks a power chord and has you banging your head before leaving you, completely drained and on your knees.
Highest recommendation.

I have spent a lot of years researching the 1692 Salem Witch Trials, visited Danvers-the original Salem Village and Salem itself-during the year and on many successive Halloweens.I feel comfortable there.
Gossamer is not that kind of town. It used to be the best place to live in the desert, but something evil strolled in and changed the people.
Dorothy Good, daughter of a murdered Salem Witch, has lived too many centuries and just wants her townspeople to be happy. But there is a dark secret that Gossamer hides and it is that secret that some outsiders wanted-badly enough that some had no problem killing for it.
Soon, all is lost, but not because of human greed.Lost for love;something that once brought joy into Dorothy's lonely life. No,now love is a nightmare in the form of a gorgeous vampire.
Gossamer is dying, almost gone.Hope arrives in the form of a young girl.
Lee Thompson's whirlwind of dark fiction will get into your head. He mixes creatures of the night and leaves you to find your own mind's battles.

For the desert likes to keep it's dark secrets and the dead are it's guardians.
Gossamer scared me and kept me in it's dark clutches from start to finish.
You will absolutely love Gossamer.
