5.0 out of 5 stars Fusion with a twist, December 14, 2003

Naysayers beware. This is NOT smooth jazz!! Nor is it generic fusion either. Mr. Lavitz is a very talented keyboardist with terrific sidemen. These guys have a very original sound on this CD which was not apparent on "Bad Habitz" and was only starting to come out on "Mood Swing".

This is a must have for fusion lovers who would like to hear something original. If however, you are looking for generic smooth jazz, you might want to pick up their "Bad Habitz" CD instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars An effort worth talking about, February 20, 2001

Master keyboardist T Lavitz (Dixie Dregs) and a host of likewise-talented musicians explore moods in this sparkling compilation. Every track has something to recommend it, though I particularly like "Over and Over" and "Winding Down".

I've been to two live Dregs shows now and always look forward to T's solo riffs. His energy and artistry are an inspiration.

Give "Gossip" a listen. You know you want to.

5.0 out of 5 stars T. Lavitz has scored again!, October 3, 2000

Since being introduced to the unknown keyboardist I have been both amazed and annoyed. He has released some of the greatest contemporary keyboard albums with some of the greatest contemporary sound, although he has been guilty of butchering the old traditions of classic jazz. This at first put me aback, but now I really beleive T. has a vision for the future of jazz. Since getting used to the electric tone his band and he share, I have fallen in love. Just like in his recording of "Mood Swing" he swings and explores harmonies with a sense of humor and a true sense or melody. I would recomend this and "mood swing" to anyone with an open ear, willing to listen to a true contemporary sound.
